Great place

Great hospitality, staff were all very friendly and helpful, Brians doing an amazing job keeping the ship afloat whilst Ursula is recovering from surgery, well done all.

Traditional B&B

A very comfortable stay at a traditional b&b run by Ursula a warm and friendly landlady. We were there to visit family and check out Suffolk. We all loved the chilled out Bramble the resident dog. The WiFi was down the whole time we were there which was at times frustrating with a 12 year old. Good breakfast.

100% value for money!

Extremely comfortable and clean. Nothing too much trouble for owners and staff. Food cooked freshly for you,not left in warming pans! Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Location couldnt be better for a quiet slowpaced break,yet withing walking distance to Lowestoft center. All in all,highly recomended.

Somerton Guesthouse review

Lovely guesthouse, perfect for a weekend family coastal break. Great location, we got a room facing the sea. Warm welcome on arrival by Ursula. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was prepared fresh with a mantra of making sure we are full! I like that they took care of the little things like being able to borrow balls, buckets, spades, etc..for the kids to enjoy on the beach. I liked that there was a list of restaurants in the vicinity, made available for us. Be pre-approved that they have a dog. As lovely as he was, unfortunately two of my kids are very young and fearful, my only negative comment is having a staff member unsympathetically telling my 4 year old, as we returned one evening and stepped inside, to stop shouting as she was scaring the dog! No acknowledgement that the child was scared too! Otherwise, Ursula was very hospitable.

A lovely guest house in a superb location , literally just across from the beach! Our room had an amazing view, and the bed was ridiculously comfortable !

Fantastic place to stay

Excellent stay

We had an excellent guest house run by Brian and Ursula who make you feel valued and could not do enough to help you plan any trips. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty and set us up for the day and a good choice was available. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely B&B. Very welcoming.

Lovely old fashioned B&B in a Victorian building. Quite a few stairs though. Such lovely hosts. Great breakfast. Very easy location. Right on the beach. Would recommend to anyone.

Hübsches B&B mit familiären Besitzern

Ein Besuch im Somerton Guest House bei Ursula und Brian ist wie wenn man gute Freunde besucht. Freundlich und jederzeit aufmerksam mit dem besten Frühstück auf der Insel. Jetzt auch mit Räucherhering und Waffeln. :-) Dazu eine zauberhafte Terasse zum Verweilen. Wir kommen immer wieder.

A lovely gem of a hotel in Lowestoft!

Ursula and Brian are a really lovely, down to earth, hard working couple who go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Their personal touches with breakfast, ensuring it is exactly as you like it puts the icing on the cake! I highly recommend this lovely hotel. It is very clean and comfortable. The couple make you feel right at home and it is marvellous to know that there are still lovely human beings in the world who know how to treat people. When you find something this good you almost want to keep it to yourself! But it would be selfish not to share this gem of a hotel. What more could you ask for? Will be going again soon! 😊

Great hospitality at the Somerset!

Brian and Ursula were fantastic hosts! Rooms were spotless and roomy. View of the seaside was great. Service was top notch and food was great. Very informative and helpful hosts. Highly recommended.
