Hanoi Indochine Premium Hotel

"I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The room was extremely old and outdated, far different from what I expected based on the listing. The bathroom was very small, cramped, and in need of significant updates. What concerned me most was finding ants in the room. There were ants on both the nightstand and the dresser where the tea/coffee was located. I arrived after 2am, noticed an at capacity sign, but checked out before 8am, less than six hours later, because I felt uncomfortable and unsafe staying there. When I reported the issue, the hotel refused to provide a refund for the remaining three nights of my reservation and even implied that I was somehow responsible for the ants. Given that I had only been in the room for a few hours overnight, that explanation made no sense. The hotel offered me another room, but by that point I had already booked alternative accommodations through Expedia because I no longer felt comfortable staying there. I also anticipated a language barrier that would make resolving the issue even more difficult. To make matters worse, the hotel was very difficult to access by car. We were unable to pull up directly to the property and had to drag our luggage from the end of the street to the hotel. Overall, this was a very poor experience. Between the outdated room, ant infestation, lack of customer service, accessibility issues, and refusal to refund the unused nights, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others."

"Had an excellent stay! The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating throughout our visit. They were always happy to assist with any requests and provided great advice on travel and local recommendations. The rooms were very comfortable and, given how hot Hanoi was during our trip, we really appreciated how cool and comfortable they stayed. The food at the hotel was also delicious, and the breakfast had a great variety and was excellent every morning. Especially the coffee!! The location is very central, making it easy to get around and explore the city. Overall, it was a perfect stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi."
Hanoi Royal Palace Hotel 2

"The staff were very kind and friendly, and the cleaners did an amazing job at keeping our rooms tidy. However, the whole place was much older than we expected from the photos. No stairs for the first two floors so unless you’re staying at ground level, you will have to climb a couple of flights of stairs to get to the lift. The initial room was like a basement that smelled mouldy, they luckily gave us another room, but even the better room had mould between the shower tiles and the shower floor was extremely slippery so we both had falls in the shower. There was a good selection of food at breakfast, and the location was fantastic. However, I will opt for a more modern, cleaner hotel next time I visit Hanoi."
