"Everyone is so welcoming here . Jay was above and beyond providing great communication with all the information needed to prepare for the stay, and his mom Angela is very warm and kind and cooks amazing meals, I loved all the fresh whole foods and juices . The location is a perfect base for doing the Blue Mountain peak hike. There is also a river that you can hike to and swim in. They also grow and sell their own coffee!
The guesthouse is only reachable by 4wd, if you don’t have that they can arrange a ride/ pick you up . I was able to take my rental sedan as close as Hagley gap but coming from Portland there were parts of the mountain roads that were pretty sketchy, having to ford a river and go up a pretty steep hill. It might not be passable if it’s been raining. Also Google Maps directions had some errors. Driving to/from Kingston the roads are much better."
