"The breakfast wasn't good at all. Very little fruit, and the fruit wasn't fresh. Considering there was a No Frills grocery store near by, I was expecting fresh food. Most of the items were microwaved. Our room was clean, but shower wouldn't turn off,. So we had to switch rooms. One reason I booked the holiday Inn is to take a swim in the pool, but the pool wasn't maintained very well. It had a layer of scum floating on the surface. My girl friend and I wanted a quiet relaxing evening after a long 7 hour drive from Sarnia. That didn't happened. I spent a good portion of the evening moving to another room above our original room. Quite frankly I was expecting way better. The shower was nice and hot, but I couldn't get the water to turn off. The bed was the only thing that was good.. Very comfortable. I think I was too generous on the star rating for this place; I should have given it a 2 star rating. Oh and also the renovations that they were doing made it feel like more like a construction site than a hotel. They started the renovations on the 1st. of April 1/2026. I booked this place two or so weeks before this date. So I can't understand why they couldn't inform of the renovations when I booked the room. The whole evening was a bust. "The location is excellent but I was disappointed with the accommodation. . The room was dated the upstairs sleeping area was up stairs that were steep . There was no escape if there ever was a fire. They advertised cream and milk in the rooms no cream there was no shampoo or soap in the bathrooms we had to figure out the Tv as it wasn't hooked up and "

"The whole experience was perfect. Jen communicated well, giving all the needed instructions about entry and free parking etc. The room and all areas of the property were well appointed, very clean and had obvious attention to detail. This place is off the charts in character. I had coffee in the turret and looked out to see the St Lawrence River. The stairs require some attention by anyone who climbs them. If was a bit more expensive than other options but well worth the extra. "

Welcome & Hospitality: We received a warm and genuine welcome upon arrival. The owner went above and beyond—providing not only all the necessary information but also taking the time to personally show us around the property and answer all our questions. His knowledge of the surrounding area and local offerings was excellent and added real value to our stay. Room & Comfort: Our room was exactly what we were hoping for—spacious, comfortable, and with a romantic atmosphere. I typically don’t sleep well away from home, but in this case, I slept exceptionally well, which speaks volumes about the comfort and tranquility. Amenities & Cleanliness: Everything was spotless. We especially appreciated the small beverage area, which was thoughtfully stocked. Even when I woke up at 4 a.m., I was able to make tea, and later prepare coffee for my partner when they woke up. Breakfast Experience: Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast room, with its original farmstead charm, created a warm and inviting ambiance that made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall Impression: Although it was early spring during our visit, we can easily imagine how beautiful the area must be later in the year. This stay exceeded our expectations in every way.
