"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The hotel is part of a very large restaurant with good food and good service. "The property is disgusting which we kind of expected from the reviews, we were only staying for 1 night so thought we'd take the risk, we definitely wouldn't have wanted to stay longer than 1 night though! The area was lovely, kept the kids busy all day with a bouncy castle, beach and park, unfortunately the water slide wasn't open though. The restaurant and staff were really friendly and helpful. "
