#Victoria #Memorial, one of the most popular #landmarks of #Kolkata, was built from 1906 to 1921 as a memorial for #Queen Victoria at the initiative of #George #Curzon. There is a lot of similarity of design with #Tajmahal. It is built of of the same white #Makrana marble, and is a memorial to an empress. It's dome, four subsidiaries, octagonal domed chattris, high portals, terrace, and domed corner towers are all very similar to Taj Mahal. The garden is a pleasant and beautiful place to spend time spread across 64 acres.
