Top quality B&B with parking

Conveniently situated close to main road and interesting village of Avebury. Good clean, quiet room with wifi and plenty of space. Excellent breakfast and very friendly hosts. Recommended!

Couple of days with the grandchildren.

The Old Forge is a lovely old house in a beautiful area and our room clean,comfortable, well designed and included cooking facilities. This was especially useful on our first evening when the nearest pub was closed on Thursday. We were specially grateful for the warm welcome and we recommend the breakfast, which kept us going all day. On Friday, dinner at the "Bell" pub was delicious.

Unique, cozy property. The downstairs, twin room has it's own, private entrance. Lots of free parking. Some road noise (not the slow country road it appears), noise transfers from the room above, which can be intrusive, depending on the guests!

Birthday Weekend

The Old Forge was comfortable, clean and very welcoming. It's a very charming, quirky place and the owners are good at making you feel at home. The choice of breakfast is excellent, with all tastes catered for and there are plenty of good quality local pubs and restaurants nearby. Close to Avebury, in lovely surrounding countryside, The Old Forge is an excellent place to stay.

Lovely self contained room in converted forge, in small village 4 miles from Marlborough. Very friendly host, excellent breakfast.Only downside was the busy road outside, traffic noise starts quite early.Would definitely stay again

Charming B&B

Very pleasant B&B with friendly owners. The picnic tables down by the river would make an ideal venue on a warm summer evening - perhaps we will visit again to take advantage.

Nice clean B&B

Close to Stoneheng quiet, breakfast was tasty. Had some difficulty finding it as GPS couldn’t find it ended up asking a fireman for directions. Would recommend it as it was outside of a busy city. Door key was a bit temperamental but managed to open the door after several attempts.

Lovely people, lovely place

We stayed here for one night on our way hoe from Bournemouth. The Old Forge is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Our room was a good size and we had use of a bathroom along the corridor. The bed was comfortable and a little softer than we are used to, but we slept well, helped by the very peaceful location. There was plentiful parking opposite the property. The breakfast was very good - we were offered a choice of time to eat, a choice of breakfast menu on arrival. The hosts are very friendly and know the local area well - and can recommend places to eat.

Perfect place to stay in every way.

We stayed in a beautiful room with small kitchenette and bathroom attached. So peaceful and very comfortable bed. The following morning we were given a map and walked across fields to Avebury passing Silbury Hill. The veggie breakfast was delicious. Better than a 5 star hotel. Our westie loved it too! Definitely the place to return to when visiting Avebury.

Lovely bed and breakfast close to Avebury

Great old English bed and (excellent) breakfast. Great walking 5km to Avebury over fields on country lanes. Easy to take local bus back to east Kennett (no 42) close to the B and B

Beautiful area, near to avebury stones. Our room was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. We slept like babies. Breakfast was lovely, blueberry pancakes ti die for.

Very welcoming. Cute room Wonderful breakfast and inn keepers. The area is fascinating. Great walks! There was a damp odor in the bathroom that was unpleasant and the fan did not work to circulate the air - the bathroom was very clean just an odor that might have been coming from the pipes ?
