Séjour au Riad Calista Marrakech du 26/04/18

Notre réservation comptait 2 adules et un enfant de 12 ans avec en main une confirmation de la réservation pour 3 personnes. A notre arrivée, notre réceptionniste Imane a contacté sa manager pour lui exposer la situation et avoir plus d’infos sur notre réservation, car elle ne disposait que d’une chambre à 2 lits à une place !!! La manager du site ne voulait rien comprendre… Je vous évite les détails de cette situation stressante et angoissante. Imane a déployé tous ses efforts pour nous installer dans une chambre avec notre enfant. Au bout d'une nuit sur place, nous avons été déplacé vers un autre Riad car le Riad était réservé pour un mariage !!! Il fallait être flexible et essayez de passer de bonnes vacances. Imane : Je n'oublie pas son sourire quotidien, sa gentillesse, sa disponibilité, son écoute et sa convivialité, elle faisait tout avec amour l’essentiel pour elle était la satisfaction du client. Elle m'a donné envie d'aimer ce lieu. Bravo.

Séjour très agréable, nous avons beaucoup aimé !

Très bien situé le riad Calista est très calme, disposant de seulement 5 chambres, et décoré avec gout. Nous avions la suite Royale au 1er étage et pouvions profiter d'une terrasse privée avec vue sur le patio et la piscine. Nous avons pu apprécier la gentillesse et la serviabilité d'Imane la responsable du riad et reviendrons avec plaisir ! Plein de petits commerces à proximité dans le quartier et sites touristiques à 10 à 20 mn de marche. Situation idéale pour découvrir la vie des habitants et plein de belles photos à faire !

Authentic riad experience

The hotel is a good choice if you want a really authentic riad experience at a decent cost. Located on narrow and dark alleys (with young guys hanging out in small groups), it is next to impossible find without a guide. Even though the alleys are small, they are packed with traffic, from cars to mules and bikes to pedestrians and after a rain they get muddy. There is hardly any insulation so everyone can hear everyone inside. I would not trust the lock on the room door. Some of the staff speak English more and some less. No cards were accepted. I got my shirts ironed by the lady making breakfast.

Un hotel encantador, con decoración marroquí,

Buenísima, para relajarte y olvidarte del estress de la Medina. Las habitaciones muy cómodas, y la pequeña piscina preciosa. El personal muy atento y amable, todo el rato pendiente. Darle las gracias a Omar, habla español y fue maravilloso en todo momento.

Ryad sympa et bien situé mais il ne serait rien sans åamer un hôte exceptionnel qui fait tout le charme de l endroit, autant présent quand on a besoin, que discret. on était comme à la maison.!

CON DO NOT STAY

It is a run down house in a dangerous back alley with the hosts not able to speak english!!! We had to change hotels as soon as we arrived pool is a pipe with rain water coming through. Bedrooms are dirty and not safe!!! Do not book

BED BUGS! What more can I say...ALOT

The hotel inially looked really clean and staff were friendly but very little English is spoken. I had to take someone from reception to physically Show the cockroaches and bugs in the bed and around our room. They were full so couldn't move us but offered us a room to sleep in belonging to guests who had checked in but on tour for a couple of days! OBVIOUSLY we said no! As we are an elderly couple we had no choice but to stay in room infested and bug infested room. I could not sleep a wink the entire time there. Also breakfast isn't all that, they serve you tea, bread and a crepe type thing everyday at the table you choose to sit at, there is no choice. Totally disappointed with the choice of hotel on this occasion and I only selected it because of the good reviews.

hotel tres agreable par ses services. le personnel toujours a notre service, vraiment agreable de ce coté la. par contre petit bemol au niveau du bruit. on entend tout a l'interieur (heureusement qu'il y a que 5 chambres) la propreté est correcte pour le pays. la restauration sur place est exelente

A Hidden Oasis

This was such a special place, who would know it lay just behind an ordinary door set in a back street of the Kasbah!! From the moment the door opened and lovely Khadija welcomed us in we were hit by the calm and tranquility within the Riad. we had a small rooom with two single beds and a tiny shower but the decor made it wonderful. There were lovely plants everywhere and comfy sofas, felt like we had gone back in time to a sultans palace. The staff were beyond wonderful, Omar and Khadija quickly became our friends. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I travelled with my mother and stayed four nights, I cant wait to return with ny husband later in the year. Highly recommend and great value.

Very good service

It was a very short stay. We arrived at midnight and need to be out of the riad by 8am for our tour. The guy who welcomed us at 12 was very nice, he personally moved the single beds to be a double bed for us. He also arranged an earlier breakfast for us cos we needed to leave by 8 (breakfast typically starts at 8). He also helped us call and scold our tour guide (in their language) cos their driver was late to fetch us.

well situated cosy hotel

great small hotel, situated close to the main market quare, but in the quiet part of Marrakech. the service and the host are very friendly and helpful. we only tried breakfast but people say they have an awesome dinner as well :)

Lovely pleasant Riad in a central location

We stayed in Riad Calista and were warmly welcomed. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Very close to the Riad is a delightful café called Café Clock Marrakech (sister café to Café Clock in Fez).

Agréable séjour dans un décor marocain authentique

Très agréable séjour dans un décor marocain enchanteur! La chambre était confortable et très romantique. Nous avions notre propre petit salon où nous prenions le petit déjeuner. Omar nous a très bien reçu, toujours discret mais attentif à nos besoins. Pour le 1er de l'an, il nous a préparé un dîner marocain délicieux dans un merveilleux décor de bougies et de pétales de roses, dans la petite cour centrale. Le riad est très calme et à 15 min à peine de l'effervescence de la place principale. Pour le trouver, il suffit de demander à un jeune local qui se fera un plaisir de vous amener devant la porte. Nous nous sommes perdus plusieurs fois, mais pour quelques dirhams, les jeunes sont contents de vous sortir du labyrinthe des médinas marocaines!

Staying in Kasbah, Riad Calista

Stay was pretty good. Nice area, was staying in the Kasbah area of Marrakech. Very quiet but great view from the rooftop. If you wish to stay there make sure you have plenty of activities lined up for the day/duration of your stay. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day, price of lunch and dinner can vary in the Kasbah area depending on what type of restaurant or cafe you wish to eat from My room was quite clean was even given my own padlock for the bedroom door. Fountain feature in the main hallway was beautiful traditional Moroccan feature in light red. There are only five rooms in the Riad so not many people living there. A very useful skill would be to know a bit of French or Arabic since the most don't speak English having said that you will find others when you are out and about who will be able to converse in English. I was told of Riad Sultana which was quite popular in the Kasbah area but a lot more in price, only down the road from Derb Chtouka. (5 mins walk) For next I will go when the weather isn't so cold in the evening and early morning as I went in the first week of December.

"Beautiful and traditional"

This riad is comfortable and beautifully decorated in a Moroccan style, but it is a little neglected in some areas. It is one of many riads in the area situated among the locals. It is in the quiet side of the road and the last building on a small road, making it difficult to find. This isn’t a problem when there are several children happy to direct you – for a tip of course. We booked the Standard Room (Kasbah). The bed was comfortable and there were 2 comfortable chairs and a coffee table in the room. Unlike big hotels, we found this riad most homely. There were 1 wardrobe and a large cupboard. The cupboard had a safe, but the combination lock did not work and it is key operated. I did not find a hair dryer or an ironing board in the room. The room also had a lovely terrace with 2 sofas and coffee table, which was just for us. The disadvantage is there is no bathroom door. There is only a voile curtain for the bathroom entrance. But the toilet and shower room are not visible through the entrance. If you want privacy, then this may not be the room for you. Soap and towels were given. There is no wifi or television in the room. There is a room in the roof terrace with comfortable seats and a TV, which has BBC World channel & Sky World News. We were given the same breakfast everyday for the 5 days we stayed; Mint tea, coffee, Moroccan bread, pancakes, croissants, jam, butter etc. The staff Omar and Nisa, were very nice and most helpful.
