"The hotel is in a good central location - 15 minutes walk to main shopping areas, the port, railway station, parks and the street is relatively quiet.
The breakfast is ok and that it is available from 7.30 to 13.30 is a bonus!
The small garden is an attraction as is the small, peaceful library. I didn't need to make us of the communal showers but this is very handy, together with the bag storage, if you are returning to collect your luggage after check out time. The ever on coffee machine and drinking water in the kitchen area was great.
I booked a "deluxe" room with a garden view. The view was fine but the room in the ancillary building was odd. It was very large and clearly layed out to maximise accessibility. The bed was large and comfortable. But there was virtually no furniture - a tiny table and two hard chairs plus the bed. No wardrobes, nowhere to relax other than the bed. The bathroom was a wet room but water from the shower flowed into the bedroom and the water damage to the base of the door showed this to be a frequent issue. There was no overhead lighting, and to switch all the lights off required switching off the main switch so moving around the room after that was less than comfortable. So, not deluxe in anything other than space. Last moan, the towels were small and pretty rough. A nice approach to a hotel let down a little by a lack of attention to detail and more awareness of customer satisfaction would be helpful."
