"You need 24 hour security. Nothing is done about crime of the drug deals and homeless people. The disturbances 24 7 vicious dogs crapping in none pet areas like in front of my room and the stairs. People are leaning on wall by our door running drugs you hear them thru the walls. Yelling and screaming all times on day n night. Today we heard the pit bull lunging at a loitering drugged by my door threats of shooting the guy and his dog. Ridiculous I have to pay over 100 a night and get no rest when im sick and my son. Employees are great working keep thing cleans and schedule cleaning. But no one cares to enforce rules and i only saw security once when we drove up a week ago. No vending machines work as ir. Ate my money but at least the ice machine did. There one washer that is usually being used by homeless people to wash clothes so I have to go else where a few miles away to clean my clothes. As great as Employees are, one star is as far as I go due to criminal element loitering drug dealing and no enforcement by staff."

"It was a pleasure to stay at the Tides Inn. The staff was excellent and very helpful the room was clean and the view was amazing with deer on the beach in the mornings, we had no problem finding parking and the hot tub in the room with the fireplace a perfect addition to an already great experience. Thank you Tides Inn staff we appreciate you."

"My family never ended up staying here because what they observed upon arrival made them feel unsafe. Within minutes of pulling into the parking lot, they witnessed what appeared to be a drug transaction, multiple individuals who appeared to be under the influence, and a couple engaged in a loud argument in the parking lot. There was also an employee, possibly a manager, outside smoking, on the phone, and loudly arguing with someone. The entire property smelled heavily of cigarettes and marijuana. Based on what my wife and two children experienced before even entering the building, they did not feel comfortable staying and left immediately. My wife called me upset, and I had to find and book another hotel for them on short notice. After reading the reviews beforehand, I hoped some of the concerns were exaggerated. Unfortunately, our experience upon arrival suggested otherwise. If safety and a family friendly environment are important to you, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere."

"When I checked in the desk clerk was not friendly. I was assigned a room and when I inspected the room it had not been cleaned from the previous guest. I went to the desk and could not find the clerk. I peeked in the side door and ask if there was anyone there and got no answer. I then found the clerk way in the back avoiding the front desk. She became upset and said she was going to refund my registration and have me leave. Because it was a prepaid registration she could not refund and did assign a different room. During the stay, the other desk clerks were present when I went by the desk."
