"A lovely quiet place perfect for a night away. Clean and comfortable. Great host, always there to help out. Just be aware that the hot tub is a paid extra, something that is not mentioned but that is not the hosts fault. They are unsure why that information is missing from the listing. Hotels.com were useless at trying to sort that out. But don't hesitate to book this place, just maybe drop them a message about using the hot tub first. "The property was clean, but the quality of bedding and kitchen stuff was just too basic. Absolutely shapeless and thin pillows, all same everywhere, so nothing to choose from. Utensils and plates are fresh from Tesco basic range still with stickers. Pans with anti stick bottoms scratched, which may be a health issue. I know it’s a caravan, and not much aspiration to be expected, but it might be just a tad bit better than a factory canteen."

"What a gorgeous hut! We stayed here for a friends wedding which was so convenient. Only things that I could fault is that the solar power usb charger point had no energy to charge our phones/ the lights weren't working. Also its a little walk to the toilet/ shower however they are excellent facilities. Maybe a bit overpriced if looking for a quiet getaway but was perfect location for the wedding we attended so would recommend for anybody attending a wedding at the abbey hall without a doubt!"

"Hotel staff reception was very helpful. We could not find the room, staff reception walked with us to make sure we would be okay. After swimming, pool area could do with an update: changing area, swimming area itself. Pool was good. Tried to go for a nibble at the bar, was too late: we got there after 8PM. Sat there with two hungry children, noting could be made or organised. They left us with two hungry children… this could be better! Otherwise we enjoyed our visit!"

"The hotel was lovely with some good old character and a real country pub feel about in the bar and terrace area. The staff were very nice & professional at all times and nothing seemed to be a problem for them when asked for or of them. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection & choice apart from Black Pudding (LOL). The only criticisms that I have are, being in room 45, the shower was pretty awkward to use because of where the shower head is mounted and had to position ourselves awkwardly to stand under it, would be better mounted on the wall directly above the taps and some of the room doors on corridors could do with a lick or two of paint, especially the room doors walking through the glass corridor between the rooms and the bar etc. Apart from that, I thought everything else was excellent and would recommend and will definitely stay again when back down visiting my friends, but will use my Blue Light discount next time now that we know this is available, which wasn't advertised at the time of booking."

"Could not find a fault, from the welcoming of the reception staff and the efficiency of all staff members. A special thanks to the lovely lady on reception who bought me some slippers when I'd forgotten to pack a pair of shoes (laugh) to the lovely breakfast waitress - all found time to smile and have a conversation. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and the breakfast, varied and delicious. The gym was a surprise, it really is very well equipped with a great pool and spa area and the hotel is an ideal location for exploring the town and a visit to the racecourse. Thank you so much for your welcome and very warm hospitality."

"Everything about our stay was excellent. The room and breakfast were perfect just what we had hoped they would be for our stay. All the staff were lovely and helpful. We didn’t use the spa and pool etc but will definitely do so on our next stay. We left feeling relaxed."
