"RUN!! I recommend NOT booking a room at this place. I spoke to other guests who feel the same way. I booked a room due to budget constraints. First, I booked this hotel years ago, and another owned by the same people, which is located up the street. That hotel is called Empire. Unfortunately, in my rush to book a hotel before my trip, I had forgotten my bad experiences with this management company years ago, until a feeling of dread came over me when I realized the mistake this time around.
First, it feels like the Front Desk Clerk might be the only one who works there. I did not see anyone else but the maids during every shift, both times I was a guest. To make matters worse, he is a NASTY, rude person with no warmth whatsoever and totally lacking in adequate customer service skills. Also, the customer service desk is mostly vacant, and you have to ring the bell repeatedly. When I asked him to fix the TV he said "he wasn't working now" and would call later. He never did.
This time around, the television set did not work; there was no overhead lighting, only dim light from the dingy, decrepit lamps; and a tenant told me to avoid the unsanitary ice machine.
At the Empire, the woman who owns both properties is NASTY, hot-tempered, and she began screaming at me for criticizing their bad customer service. She told me to get out and never come back, and slammed the door. After the incident, I read a review from another customer complaining of her temper. AVOID THIS PLACE!!"
