"A strictly average property. Best for a few nights. It's called Sree Leela Palace by the way and Papaya Leaf is the name of the group that owns it. and while it's a 5 min walk to the temple which is the best part it's slightly off the main road and hard to locate if you are coming for the first time. Rooms are compact. Air conditioning in the rooms worked well. Power cuts did happen a few times during the day but manageable. Wifi was ok. The category of the room we had booked was not given to us as the guy at the counter goofed up in the allocation. Overall the property is well maintained and it's strength is distance to the temple."
Sarasiruham Resort - Private Pool Villa in Udaipur
10/10 Excellent
"Very well maintained and managed property. Fully accommodating to guests. There are also other things to do on the property like horse riding and petting animals. Highly recommend to anyone who wishes to have a luxury private stay!"
"Positives:
1) Wonderful staff, could not do enough for you - kind, friendly, attentive. Particular thanks to Leela, Khushal, Issa and Girja Chouhan.
2) Comfortable beds/rooms. Nice style.
3) Tasty food. Lots on offer
4) Beautiful surroundings/pool area.
5) One party member unwell during stay and staff were very helpful in sourcing medical support.
Negatives:
1) Had to move rooms because there was a significant wasp problem in our private pool - told it was because it is a jungle resort, but there were around 30 wasps waiting to enter our room during daylight; opening the door let 5 in. Private pool was unusable. The hotel did move our room to a jacuzzi room (same price) and we had no further issues.
2) Private pool terrace gets no sun and pool is cold/unheated. Not sure it really serves any purpose at this time of year.
3) Two loud group parties on two of the nights we stayed, hosted by the hotel. Music was playing from speakers etc. and it was all hosted from just outside the restaurant. The music could be heard after 10pm in our beds despite white noise playing from our phones/earplugs. It is fine for a hotel to host events, but if they interfere with the comfort of other guests you should warn them in advance and give them the option of rebooking. We would have done.
4) The jacuzzi water temperate was luke-warm.
5) Phone-calls at 8:30 every morning to remind you of breakfast. Intrusive - especially when you’ve been up all evening from party noise…"
