Good, cheap, option. The staff was very nice, the hostel was as expected for such a low price but it was not at all terrible.

Affordable hostel in Montreal
The bed and the shower were good. Danny was helpful with the check in. The hostel needs some repairs, but the bedroom three was good. Dulce, the manager, is an OK person. I was surprised with the check in process, but overall everything was OK for a two night stay.

Fabulous stay! Basic accommodations
I enjoyed my stay. Staff were super welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. Location was extremely convenient! Delicious breakfast restaurants, coffee shops, pubs & dining in the surrounding blocks. My bed wasn't the most comfortable, and the bathrooms were a little run down, but the shower was good. Lockers were a decent size. Overall vibe... a little run down, but clean enough and felt very safe. Can't beat the value. Would definitely stay again.

Pay attention: locker needs a 50$ deposit
It’s fit for very short stay.
Location is good
Bathrooms are clean
-Lacks basic renovation and
-Limited personnel at reception desk.
-No privacy on the bed (lacks curtains).
-No towels offered
It’s a cheap and seemingly safe place to sleep. The Asian lady who runs it seems quite polite and friendly.
But the facilities are old, worn out, dirty and in places moldy.
Montreal is an expensive city and Apéro is cheap and you get what you pay for. However, when you put 6 beds in one small room, and charge $40-50/each, you’re earning $200-300/night depending on occupancy. You would expect better conditions even for a hostel. This place is an old townhouse converted into a hostel and it’s small, cramped and generally fairly substandard compared to other auberges I’ve tried.
By comparison, M Montreal in the village, for a similar price/night is a 1000x better and much more professional with way more space and amenities.
Auberge Apéro is much smaller of course. But you can still be better organized and cleaner. This place is just worn out and needs a meaningful decluttering, repair, upgrading effort.
I would not go back.
The picture shows here as living room, they related to upstairs, downstairs was so dirty, i arrived 1:30 pm and was waiting for one locker key till 6 pm
the atmosphere there wasn't nice and safe
