  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Excellent Village B&B

Countryside location meaning very quiet and relaxing. Excellent facilities and we were well looked after by Theresa who suggested places to visit during our stay. Would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone.

This property is a gem. The owner's, Andy and Theresa have certainly put a lot of hard work into making the property the ideal location for one night or a weeks stay. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are ensuite and modern and clean. Outside is a pool which is ideal in the hot weather with sun beds and umbrellas. There is the use of a fridge freezer. Cold drinks can also be bought from Andy or Theresa. We opted for a home cooked meal on our first night which was superb and as good as any restaurant standard, there was a relaxed atmosphere and food conversation.

Un superbe accueil de la part de Teresa qui nous a aussi réservé un restaurant malgré une arrivée tardive. Merci encore. Chambre spacieuse et très agréable. Petit déjeuner copieux. Le tout dans un bâtiment très charmant (à l’image des hôtes).

Theresa was amazing as was her "castle". The apartment is quaint and has everything you could want for a stay. The breakfast was perfect and we were thrilled to have someone who spoke fluent English.
