"Great food & drink options at the pub underneath the accommodation, friendly helpful staff and the room was clean and comfortable......BUT.....OMG.....it was the night from hell with all the noise from the pub below and the customers loud drunk voices coming from inside the pub and also outside the pub under my room at the front of the pub until nearly 4am!! The pub is open until 2am on the Thursday night I stayed, but groups of people were still partying on in the main street outside the pub after they closed in groups with wild loud driving too!! I was worried about my car parked right outside the pub all night!!.......the parking advertised was about 3 spots at the back of the pub and only street parking in front of the pub. The rooms at the back of the pub might have been quieter.....but somehow, I doubt everyone got a good night sleep, especially when room 8 left me with a very sleepless night and to then continue working and driving 5hrs home the next day. The shared bathroom was also out of toilet paper in the morning in both toilets, which was far from ideal. Yes, it's in a pub, yes, it's at a lower price point to some accommodation in town.....but it was not a dorm, I was still paying for accommodation that did look great & present well online.....not expecting no respect for any paying guests to actually get some sleep and to hope their car is ok the next day! Great place for dining in the pub etc.....but staying here again is a definite no from me!"

"The welcome at reception for check-in was very good, and the lady there was helpful when I requested bowls for our room. The only microwave for guests is downstairs in an open (outdoor, undercover) patio area. The vintage 'styling' of the room is initially charming, but was very tired. The hot water took a long time to come through for the shower so we both ended up having lukewarm showers at about 8pm The mattress was very soft, so soft that my husband ended up trying to sleep on the floor. The room was small, not cosy,...cramped, with only one chair to share between the two of us. There was some sort of room perfume dispenser plugged into the power point that was so overpowering that it gave me an allergic reaction and we had to unplug it and put it outside on the balcony, we opened the window to get fresh air into the room, but it just let traffic noise in. The room we had was at the top of a long, narrow flight of external stairs, which was difficult to manage with our luggage. The receptionist offered to assist us with our bags, which was very nice of her. The only parking is in the street. The receptionist very kindly advised us to move our car across the street, as the parking bays nearest the hotel had time restrictions during daytime hours. The hotel is handy to 'downtown' which made it easy for us to do a walking tour for sightseeing and also it is an easy walk to eateries for both dinner and breakfast. We would not stay at this facility again."

"Good location. Supplies were minimal. No tissues provided and only one cake of soap for 2 nights and days for 2 people . The room were were appointed was CLEARLY VISIBLE TO all who entered the property and or those who chose to enjoy the on site Cafe. The only way to ensure our privacy was to have blinds drawn at all times…..thus a dark room day and night. We would have appreciated more consideration when appointing us to a room. There were plenty available.! Bernadette ."
