Good value for the money. Five of us stayed in one room. The building was older and the amenities were basic but you get what you pay for. The service was friendly and excellent. He didn't speak much English but it was easy enough understanding what he was saying and he had signs in English as well to explain things. Because of covid the onsen/shower hours are reduced but it was still enjoyable. The room was clean and a heater was provided as well as hot water for tea. The futons were clean and comfortable. My only gripe was that there was no hot water from the sink in front of our room however if you go down by the toilet sinks there was hot water there. Keep in mind also that there is no late check-in available. You must check in before 2000.
