"The hotel is gorgeous the only downfall is that if you get a street side room it will be super noisy. At least our room had a microwave a coffee maker and a smart tv. The toilet is very loud omg. The pool is gorgeous. The staff is very professional and attentive. The complimentary breakfast was ok."

"The hotel is very nice, with clean and comfortable rooms. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is friendly. They also offer a boat shuttle service to Palomino Island, which makes for a wonderfully relaxing experience. I tried several of the hotel's restaurants, and everything was delicious."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most spoke both Spanish and English. The grill and bar at the pool was so convenient and the food was tasty. The buffet style breakfast had many options and the hours were sufficient (6-10am). The room was clean, well stocked and comfortable. Vouchers for beach chairs and an umbrella was a nice bonus. We loved our stay and would stay there again."

"A small boutique hotel, right on the beach. PROS: The beach umbrella, lounges and towels were included. Although the beach is not private, it was far enough away from the public beach that we felt like we were almost alone, with the public beach quite crowded. Large beach each is gently sloped with soft sand. Morning ocean is calm, with fun waves by each afternoon. Wind is always blowing...keeping you cool, and sometimes sandy. Housekeeping was impeccable! We got excellent service every day, as we requested at check-in, except for Sunday. I believe the sheets were changed daily, and it was more than just a quick cleaning of our room. Each staff member was incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful. CONS: No microwave, hotel pools are small, only a mini-bar fridge in the room. (However, hotel management was fine that we use it as our personal fridge and we put pre-stocked drinks back in the fridge at check out---with no charge.) Wooden frame around the bed was aesthetically appealing, but it was a challenge to get in and out of the bed. No ice machine on hotel floors. However, the front desk is happy to fill a small cooler or mug with ice if you ask. OVERALL: 10/10 Even with the cons, the service we received from start to finish was the best we've received at any hotel in years!"

Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort

"What an amazing place to stay!!!! I am NOT a beach lover, but my kids are... and this hotel sits right in between the beach and the rainforest! So while after an exhausting day in the sun of the beach, we got to come back to the hotel and sit on the balcony that overlooked the rainforest. Immediately, when you walk in, your breath will be taken away from the view, and I don't know what scent that they have in that hotel, but I need to find it in a candle!!! This hotel was by far such an incredible part of our vacation- from the pools, to the slides, to the roomservice and views... On a less dreamy and joyful note, they do get you with daily resort fees (about $45 a day), which we were not expecting and it's $20 a day to self park. They do have a casino and event space on site, so if there is an event like a wedding, parking is still limited, and you may have to park pretty far away in the sun. They do have a shuttle, but we always found it was faster to walk."
