"Very nice comfy hotel set amongst great views of the karst. Easy walking distance to ancient xingping Town.
Great breakfast with Chinese and western options. Great bed comfort. Spacious room and good bathroom. Balcony with view was nice touch. Good pool. Had some snacks and beers you could buy but only thing that was missing was bar snacks outside dining times.
Suggest getting taxi if from the train station as doesn't cost much and it's tucked around the corner from the bus station."
"The hotel has an excellent location and is very well maintained and run. The owner is very hands on and is always there to help. Other staff is also wonderful and even if they don’t speak English they have translators at hand and communication is never an issue. They can also book you cheaper deals on excursions in the area as well as airport and rail transfers.
We experienced electric scooters available at the property and it was a great experience.
Overall it was a wonderful stay and the property is very highly recommended from me."
"Stayed for a couple of nights. Out of town and loved the tranquility and close up views of the mountains, especially with the river view balcony we had. Staff all extremely friendly. The food was very good and meant not needing to travel into town. Would totally recommend."
"Everything is exceptional - the room, foods, amenities, and most importantly the staff! Want to thank especially Maggie at the restaurant, Teresa at the front desk for taking care of us! Thank you all for making our say a memorable one!"
The Deer Haven Yangshuo - A Luxury Heritage & Modern Karst Mountain Retreat by Yulong River
10/10 Excellent
"The view from the room looking at the mountains facing west (beautiful sunset view) was astonishing. The staff was kind, polite and very friendly. Ms. Linzi, Mr. Zhu and other staff members went out of the way to delight the customers. If you are planning a trip to Yangsou, plan 2-3 days and be with nature to decompress and relax. Don’t miss the dining at Magpie Restaurant (Yulong River Branch) 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the food here recommended by the hotel staff."
The First Glimpse Karst Villas - Impression Liusan Jie Branch - Neo-Chinese Courtyard Design
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was perfect, the staff were so helpful and kind. The view from our room was once-in-a-lifetime. The afternoon tea and cakes were delicious and not too sweet. We would recommend staying here any time you’re in Yangshuo!! The pool was really warm in late October.
Logistically, the hotel makes you feel like you’re at home. Laundry machines are available. Deliveries to the hotel from Meituan were easy, and the hotel has a nice breakfast every morning so you don’t have to leave paradise if you don’t want to. The scenery is all very close by if you choose to leave the hotel you’re only minutes away from the mountains.
We can’t wait to come back!!"
"Sugarhouse is the perfect platform to explore Yangshuo and the surrounding area. It is not city center but a sanctuary after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. Went with family and the pool was amazing. We spent hours there meeting new people and enjoying the views."
"We had the room with a big square bath and balcony overlooking the mountains. The room was of a high standard, all the gadgets for lighting and air conditioning to make it comfortable during a September, very humid stay. Room cleaned and restocked really well each day. Staff on reception really helpful but you will need a translation app if you need to speak English but this was fine and wasn’t a problem, the staff in the cafe next door were really lovely and friendly. Great juices, just a few snacks, could have done with a wider food menu. We ate once in the restaurant in the hotel. Atmosphere was lacking a little and menu not to our taste but we appreciate food is very subjective.. what we did order was tasty. We didn’t get up for breakfast! One of the highlights is to go through the restaurant and up the stairs to the roof terrace, stunning views of the mountains. One thing to note is if you are in a mountain villa, there are a few stairs to climb, not a massive amount but if you have restricted mobility, 20 steps or so would be a challenge. Also this hotel is right on the road. We were on the fourth floor so not too affected and everything quiet at night, but for our afternoon snooze we could hear beeps of scooters/cars. The vehicles themselves are really quiet, mostly electric but the beeps when they overtake could be heard. We didn’t try the pool and gym, looked nice. Would we go back? Yes, we loved it, as it was mostly Chinese people and felt like an authentic stay."
