Super 8 by Wyndham Durango

"We enjoyed our stay in Durango, and overall this is a nice hotel and about as good of a bargain as can be expected in a tourist-based town. The facility was fairly well maintained, the room was VERY SPACIOUS, and the amenities met (if not exceeded) my expectations for this level of hotel. It was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and there was a positive energy around the facility - especially in the mornings. And that deserves a special explanation: By far, the best part of our experience at the Super 8 Durango was breakfast each morning which included a special curated menu that was also cooked and maintained by Chef Matt. There's no question that this was one of the best complimentary breakfasts I'd encountered at any Super 8 or any hotel of this level. Chef Matt was also very friendly and accommodating and clearly seemed to enjoy his job. All things that made it even better than expected! On the negative side, there was one primary issue that kept me from giving a top rating: Parking lot lighting. The light facing the west side of the lot behind the hotel was nearly out, and it was VERY DARK after sunset. Although I didn't feel completely unsafe, it was an issue when it came to navigating the lot both in the car and on foot. Otherwise, the air conditioning was a slight issue, but considering the unseasonable weather, I assume it would have been fine in normal summer conditions. Overall, we had a good stay and would return in the future!"
