"The biggest strength of this hotel is definitely the location. Being right next to the port and close to the city center made everything extremely convenient and easy to walk to.
The room itself was adequate for a short stay of a night or two, but we would not choose it for a longer visit. We did have a nice sea view, which was a great touch. However, the room was very small, and the hotel combined two twin beds together to make one larger bed, which we personally did not care for.
The bathroom setup was also a little challenging. The shower did not have a door, so water would end up on the bathroom floor after every shower, and I constantly felt like I needed to clean it up afterward. There also seemed to be an excessive amount of light switches for such a compact room, which became oddly confusing at times.
That said, this probably sounds like more complaining than it really was. Overall, we had a perfectly fine stay, and the excellent location alone makes it a solid option for travelers wanting easy access to the port and nearby attractions."
"The room was quiet (excellent soundproofing for an airport hotel) with comfortable beds. The pool was out of order. The restaurant was tasty and the staff were helpful on the logistics of getting back to our early morning flight. The hotel is very expensive, but was a great place to sleep overnight after arriving on a red eye prior to flying on to an island on an early morning flight the next day (and we did save by not needing a hotel transfer, as you simply walk across the street from the airport to the hotel)."
"Main dishes were ordinary, more American style. Would have like to be able to taste more of Greek meals. Rooms do not match the presentation of the lobby/ hotel entry which is lavish. Rooms are basic with fridge, a safe, TV, a balcony (optional) and a standing shower with hair dryer."
"There is no staff on-site to assist with check-in or check-out. If you arrive before 12:00 p.m. and have luggage, you are essentially stuck with it and unable to do much until check-in time. This can be especially inconvenient for travelers arriving in Athens early in the morning who hope to spend the day sightseeing. Technically, if a room is available due to an early checkout or vacancy, the hotel could remotely arrange an early check-in, but they choose not to do so."
"What I liked most about the property was the rooftop view. Besides that, there were no face towels. The power went out 3 times in the same night. The first was while I was on the elevator and had to get off and climb 9 flights of stairs. The 2nd time I was in the shower. There was only one USA outlet which was located in the bathroom. The king bed was actually two twin beds that kept separating from each other and this made it horrible to sleep."
Aethon Airport Project Hotel-Free Shuttle by GK Hospitality Group
4/10 Poor
"The hotel is a like an appartment building with a reception at the entrance. no breakfast/bar, ... but you can find that in the same street. Rooms are nice and clean. I booked the hotel for its free shuttle but couldn't use it, because they couldn't propose decent times, altough I informed them 5 days in advance about my flight schedule. Upon arrival they told me to wait 1h30 for the shuttle, as i was late and the next day I had an early flight I took an Uber (10 minutes), as I wanted to get to bed asap. In the morning they proposed a shuttle at 6h15 or 8h30 for a flight at 9h45. Or I would have to hang out 3 hours in the airport or risk to miss my flight. So again I took a 20 € uber to get to the airport. Weird as they advertise with their free shuttle but that service is very poor."
