The staff was really nice and courteous. The facilities was clean. Pool and gym really nice. Night entertainment. Hunters had excellently prepared meals. Day and night entertainment. Bar tenders really nice and keep the vibes going. Room confortable with amazing views
The food was good but very repetitive. It’s seems the menus have changed. Very disappointed in the fruits offered at the buffet. Apples watermelon and cantaloup no mangoes June plum or really anything you would expect being in the Caribbean I had to buy some coconuts off a vendor on the beach. The beach is awesome warm clear and claim water!
The staff was a-1 amazing. Let me remind you the resort had been closed for 9 months. It reopened August 25. I arrived sept 2. I experienced power outages, limited food( resort ran out of lettuce). Crazy right. Waited 2 hours for hibachi dinner. Sub par to say the least. This was not my first visit to this resort. My first trip I’d give 8/10. Both times the staff was amazing
For the price 8 paid for this trip I will not be returning.
Came during their opening week. So a little unorganized and chaotic with the amount of rooms I booked, which was 6.
Some rooms were dirty upon arrival, and 3/6 rooms power went out for the last few days. Staff tried to accommodate.
This property reopened and they were not ready. The conditions of the resort from that constant power outages, elevators getting stuck, and the noise of the smoke alarm system randomly enunciating in the middle of the night. Some staff were gracious but for the most part they require more time. Many couples and families complained
Went at a bad time didnt enjoy my mom birthday at all... paid for swim out room and didn't get one, room had major maintenance issues and pest control issue. Waited almost 8 hours to be settled in a room. Lost one whole night just going back and forth. My worst hotel experience. Hope it gets better for others.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Gave a mid review on property maintenance since our building suffered a power loss for around 2 hours during the night and maybe around 3 hours the following day in the evening. There was no communication from the staff so that was disappointing but it was eventually resolved. Everything else was great. That alone spoiled the trip. If the issue is permanently fixed or at least the staff would be more forthcoming, I'd definitely recommend.
Beware of booking this property just about nothing works after the hurricane and they claim that everything is up to date and fine. We paid an additional 1200.00 for a swim out suite and Diamond Service and couldn’t use the swim out due to pump not working and bacteria. The phone never worked which is a serious safety issue. Oh and no electricity for 40 hours. When I asked for some type of reimbursement the staff gave me an attitude and zero compensation. Also you will be approached with two free massages if you go to a welcome breakfast which turned out to be a hard selling time share vacation club scam and if you don’t give them the 20k up front the kiss your message vouchers good bye. A total rip off vacation. Lastly the food is awful my wife and I could barely choke down the never ending slop they put down in front of you. The Royalton advertises 3 properties they are all the same so dont fall for their tricks with no treats. I wish that we would’ve done a little more homework and not waisted 6k on this lousy vacation.
Extremely disappointing experience.
Unfortunately, Royalton Negril did not live up to our expectations. The biggest disappointment was the food. It was consistently dry, stale, repetitive and honestly terrible. We came to Jamaica excited to enjoy authentic Jamaican food and didn’t get oxtail ONCE — not even on Jamaican Night, which was shocking.
Room service was just as bad. The wait times were outrageous, and after waiting forever, almost every order arrived incorrect.
The restaurants were also extremely disappointing. The food was poor, and many restaurants were only open on certain days, making it nearly impossible to get reservations. For an all-inclusive resort advertising multiple restaurants, guests shouldn’t have to struggle this much just to find somewhere decent to eat.
The spa seemed to constantly be closed or unavailable. I tried to get a pedicure and couldn’t even get one during our stay.
The pool area was frustrating as well. The day beds were always taken, and the kids’ splash pad was basically unusable because the water was FREEZING. It was so cold that hardly any children were even playing in it.
For the amount of money you pay to stay here, we expected so much better. Between the terrible food, poor room service, unavailable restaurants and spa, and disappointing amenities, we would not return.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet our expectations. Our 2-bedroom Presidential Suite with an Ocean View was spacious and comfortable for our family of five, but it was clearly not fully ready for guests. There was dried paint on faucets, toilets, floors and countertops, a toilet paper holder coming out of the wall with plaster still drying, a broken toilet seat, and a leaking refrigerator. All were reported to management, but no one came to inspect or repair them.
Communication and follow-through were extremely disappointing. We requested towels FIVE times in one day and never received them until housekeeping cleaned the room the next morning. We were assigned a concierge and encouraged to use WhatsApp, but requests repeatedly went unanswered. Managers took our complaints and promised to follow up, but never did.
Breakfast was disappointing and repetitive. The best food was actually the Jerk Hut, which was only open from about 12:30–3 PM.
The beach was by far the best part of our stay—beautiful, warm, clear water and truly relaxing.
The suite had great potential and the beach was wonderful, but for the money spent, I believe there are better options in Negril with better food, service, communication, and attention to detail.
