"All the staff were friendly, and the customer service was excellent. We stayed here for our daughter's wedding we all had a fantastic time. The wedding coordinator, Daisy, was excellent. The day ran smoothly and without issues, just what you need. It was the hottest day in May on record, and still, the staff worked tirelessly to make the day special.
The food was delicious.
Thank you to all the staff, brilliant."
"The property is in a beautiful nature reserve area with lots of activities to do if on holiday. The hotel has lovely views, modern and spacious.
However lots of niggly things made the stay un-relaxing and felt like they were just out to charge every part of your stay extra fees and if i could have cancelled my stay and gone elsewhere I would have. E.g. if your room is already before check in time you are asked to pay an early check in fee which is the first I've come across this. Also not able to use the amenities as they are all an extra fee, no complimentary use of the pool which again is a first for me in hotels and not mentioned on Expedia.
In the brasserie the food was fine however there never seemed to be enough waiters and only saw them again when we'd almost finished our meal, mine was missing items and the creme brulee was not set and runny.
We were going through a heatwave and the rooms do not have AC or fans which is definitely needed on the top floor, it was so hot we couldn't sleep. I understand due to being in the location they are they couldn't add AC however fans could be installed easily, plus the bedding was still heavy winter duvets and no light sheets,.
Reception were very helpful to move us rooms due to ours not having net curtains so our neighbours could easily see into our room from their balcony which was one plus."
"Charming British feel to this Hotel, renovated building with a quirky room layout in the building. Narrow stairs to rooms, no elevator. Room well decorated, no desk or side chair. Tasty bakery or treats in room and lobby. Very good breakfast. 5 minute taxi ride from Cheltenham Spa station,"
"The hotel is someway out of the centre of Oxford, which makes a stay very affordable, compared to inner city accommodation. The Peartree Park and ride makes travel into the city very easy, and it runs every few minutes. If buses aren't your thing, Ubers are plentiful and cheap out of peak times.Staff at the hotel were very helpful, friendly and professional , the food at the restaurant was good with plenty of choices.
Highly recommend A+"
"The hotel needs to round off the handles on the room doors. Mine was razor-sharp and when I checked in the door handle cut my little finger halfway up its length. Since door handles are often handled by dirty hands, they are a vector for disease and it’s just a matter of time until the hotel faces a major lawsuit. The attached photo shows the length of the cut after four days of healing."
"A really convenient hotel for central Oxford (and Blenheim) as close to the park and ride. There's a bus stop directly outside the hotel that takes you right into the centre of the city for less than £3 - meaning you can avoid the congestion & clean air zone charges by leaving the car in the huge car park. Reception is lovely, as are the staff, lots of little extras...free fruit, free cold drinks & spritz for the grown ups - which on the hotest day of the year was very welcome! The bedroom was spacious & the air con actually worked & the room cooled within minutes, which as the temps reached 34° was a huge bonus & meant we slept soundly! Only criticism would be, whilst the bedroom looked relatively newly renovated, the bathroom was dire!!! The bath had repairs around the edge with sharp edges on the bath side, the door hinges were orange with rust and the bottom of the door had huge chunks of psint missiing... tbf the whole bathroom felt like it hadn't been updated since the early 80s & it was tiny! The bedroom was huge & could easily have given space up to a larger bathroom. We only stayed for one night so didnt raise the issue with the poorly repaired bathroom with reception, but when I stay here again (and I will stay here again!) I will insist that the room we are given have a much better/updated bathroom next time."
