I liked:
The unique Georgian property, inside and outside
The short 10--15 min walk from central Newry (ie Newry bus station)
The same closeness of restaurants and shops
The big comfortable bed in my huge room
The generous hot breakfast + various breads, cornflakes, fresh fruit ...
The fact, that after travelling 24 hours without sleep from Costa Rica to Limavady via Dublin and New York, I was able to break my journey and overcome my jetlag and lack of sleep in elegant Belmont Hall !

There was no hot water for a shower in the morning
The heating went off before 9 pm on a bitterly cold evening
At breakfast there was an empty tub of butter with only scrapings left inside for us to use on toast and was told they had to find a shop open to go get some. This was at 7 am in the morning

Hotel was fine for the price a little tired but good breakfast, would stay again
This is one of those properties that could be an awesome boutique hotel. It has place, space, grandeur and history... unfortunately a lot of that seems to be left to the pages of history. The building is grand, the rooms are massive... but they feel empty and spartan. The bed sheets, im sorry they were stained and filthy, I had to sleep in my clothes, because after reading other unfavourable reviews I was little intimidated about what the owner might do if I complained. Again.. this could be an amazing hotel with investment.. but it seems stuck in the Georgian era with all the negatives you would commonly associate with a bedsit from the 70's. Its spartan, cold, lacking any sort of life to the property. It could be so much more.... but it was dirty and unclean and I felt unclean sleeping in the beds. The sheets don't need to be washed... they need to be burned and replaced.
Within walking distance of city centre. Lovely old Georgian House, quiet location (close to a Tesco supermarket). Rooms are spacious, plenty of hanging space, large bathroom. Shower was grand. Duvet covers could have been a bit cleaner (stained). Breakfast was great, good selection including cooked. Excellent value for money.

This was a great value for money. It's an old building but well maintained and was lovely to see old features still. Rooms were spacious and breakfast god
At first not much life about the place but once we got in was met by Joe and from there on everything was great .Seemed like a one man show but he did a great job and the house has character. Great price and Would recommend

For the room it was what i expected ..and good big room but it was the lack of staff.and the breakfast standard that let it down. I walked about the building for about 20mins to get someone to order my breakfast..to which the bread had blue mould... the milk was out of date and sour...and my eggs well i couldnt tell if the where fried or scrambled because..a mess and full of grease (pictures to prove). And again walked about the building to try and find someone to check out.
If you want somewhere to just put your head down then its ideal but anything else don't get your hopes up
I do hope i just had a one off disappointing experience has the place has so much potential and the location is great. I think a few more staff to bring the extra details and attention is needed

A lovely old building in a good location but doesn't have the services that we expected.
Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful Georgian Mansion with big, airy rooms and lots of character. Very nice Irish breakfasts, made to order!
The property itself is spacious, comfortable and ensures a good night's sleep and rest. The hospitality, especially the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.

It is a lovely old house, and the current owners are trying to have a good B&B. We had a good bathroom, and the breakfast was good. The bedroom was spacious, but lacking in certain aspects. If the bedroom had been better, I would have given it a better rating. The lift was an unexpected bonus.
Only down side was that there was no bar/lounge as stated , not that we were made awarw of anyway. Would hace been nice after a long day to have been able to sit and have a drink, even through the town was quite nearby.
No soap no toilet roll no bath stuff no face cloth no warm water. Stains on bedsheets glass in sink mouldy white crust inside it hairs on tiles in shower . so i couldnt bath couldnt wash hands after toilet and had to get toilet roll myself walking about property. Not staying again.
Run down WATER COLD UNABLE TO SHOWER ,ROOM NOT WARM ENOUGH,, IN THE DINING ROOM HAVING BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY BREAD I PICKED UP COMPLETELY MOULDED ,THROUGHOUT, REPORTED ALL THIS TO STAFF I EXPECTED TO BE OFFERED A REDUCTION BECAUSE OF ALL THIS ,DIDN'T HAPPEN
First room beds were not dressed so moved to another room.dirty towels. Bathroom not cleaned so unable to shower. Beds looked as they had been already slept in by others. Would'nt return.
My wife and I thought it was very good, lovely location, big size rooms, value for money, what you get for your money is a lot better than what you would get in a ☆☆☆☆ hotel.

This is lovely old building, and has so much potential. But our stay was disappointing, in a number of ways.
We were given a massive room, which was lovely and (more importantly) clean. Having said that the underside of the bath mat was filthy, the towels were washed but had imbedded make-up stains from previous visitors, and when we opened the wardrobe- well, there were sheets flung inside it and two spare pillows (one of which was covered in stains and wasn't the sort of thing you would keep at home, never mind in a B&B).
Breakfast was disappointing. We arrived down in the dining room, to find a couple of almost empty bags of bread sitting out, no butter for the toast (had to ask for that), salt/pepper shakers that weren't working and a bag of bananas (still in the shop plastic). Basic things, but so very vital. The cooked breakfast was cold- probably because it was on stone cold plates, and different parts of it were cooked at different times (so, lukewarm sausages, and cold fried eggs).
Just not a great experience- but so much potential for a lovely old character building. Spoke to the manager, who was very nice and promised to address the issues; but so many basic things that just need to be dealt with.

Had to ring doorbell twice before it was eventually answered. They had system issues so delayed checking in. No toilet paper in bathroom. Cold shower despite lettting the water run for 10 minutes. Couldn’t fault the cooked breakfast as it was only available after 8am and I had to leave before then. Cereals etc however were provided.
