I traveled to Nice for a short 4 days. The hotel is very centrally located in the middle of old nice, within walking distance of everything. The rooms were newly renovated and clean. The property is family owned and I had the pleasure of meeting the owners on check in. Wonderfully Kind and very gracious. They greeted me with a coffee and a water and allowed me to check in as soon as I arrived. Had a very positive experience and will definitely be going back.

Staff was sweet and attentive when you needed something. House cleaning was ok. If they cleaned room they wouldn’t change towels or change trash bags in room. Amenities were not great. Horrible hair dryer, no safe and no fridge in room.

Fabulous location for the promenade, shops, bars and restaurants. Trams run right outside, 10 mins leisurely walk to the station and tram link to the airport is 5 mins away. A lovely little boutique hotel.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was cozy but sufficent and clean. The location was wonderful and central, easy walk to beach or restaurants. Staff was very helpful.

The hotel was right on Place Massena in the heart of Nice. Great staff took care of all your needs and very friendly. Rooms were nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. We will come again here.

Excellent location. We stayed in two hotels in this same area and we liked the other one better than this one but this one was clean and comfortable. The guy at the front desk was not friendly and did not speak much English.

We had the balcony room. Only one in the hotel. It was pretty incredible to sit out there each night and watch the people. The location cant be beat!! The staff was always friendly. The room could definitely use some work. Door knobs falling off, almost no hot water and just the over all condition of the workmanship. This hotel has soooo much potential. Just needs a bit of TLC. Overall i would stay hear again for the price point.

Hotel in a very good location, close to everything restaurants, shopping mall, to the tram, to the Promenade. Room is clean. But not sound-proof, you can hear everything fr the other rooms. We asked for the AC to be opened but staff said they don’t operate it until next month. She suggested to open the window, which we did but you can smell foul odor coming from outside probably drainage(?). There was also a smell coming from the bathroom drain.

A last minute choice due to change of travel plans, chose Hotel de La Mer because of its location in the most iconic square of Nice, easy to reach via tram from the airport & a very reasonable room rate. Have stayed in a dozen hotels in Nice over the years: this was a surprise: 95% a good surprise. Read to the end for the one small caveat. The location is outstanding. Literally two blocks from the Promenade des Anglais & pix by the hotel are accurate: you ARE right at the Apollo fountain. Windows well soundproofed, enjoy the fountain sounds with them open, dead quite when they're closed. The room was comfortablly laid out, nicely done, a bit small, bed & bedding were good, closet decent size, WC was modern & nice, good toiletries. A hot water kettle with teas & coffees in the room. We were welcomed by staff, given our room an hour early, and offered tea, coffee, a croissant. The caveat: entering the hotel was a bit off-putting. The main hall serves the entire building not just the two dozen rooms of this hotel which is on the first flight up from street level. Unfortunately the entry hall and staircase are dim. You'll have to carry luggage up the first flight: however both when on arrival & departure staff offered to help carry luggage. (On booking they ask for an arrival time to be ready to help!) Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Guessing 2/3 the rooms face Place Massena but not all. You DEF want a room facing the square: iconic view such an absolute pleasure.

Firstly, this is a great place for access, its right in the main hub of the old town. So, you have access to loads of bars, restaurants. The tram stops are very close and easy to use. Some of the down sides are that its very noisy early in the morning with refuse lorries, street cleaners etc, even with the double-glazed windows. Another thing to bear in mind is that the rooms are small, functional but small, well room 6 anyway. Also the beds are solid, and if you have a bad back it might do you some good, if you don’t have a bad back you soon will have. The bathroom was fine, but the shower cubical was very small, if you moved to much or turned you it the shower mixer tap and it turned off. You can shower fine, but done move around to much in there, and trust me I am not large person by any means. The rooms were cleaned daily, with bed sheets changed and fresh towels replaced daily, so I cannot fault them for that. We didn’t try the breakfast as there is so many places around, we made of use of them and did some people watching at the same time. On the day of departure, we left our backs at reception, other people had done the same, upon collecting out bags some 6 hours later we went into the hotel and collected our bag, had I not put my hear around the door at reception they would have had no idea of someone taking a bag. So I don’t recommend leaving your bag as you cannot be sure if it has been tampered with or stolen. Advice is keep all your valuables with you at a

The Hotel was in a fantastic location, easy to walk as situated in the Old Town which was wonderful. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our only minor complaint was the size of the room which was tiny and lacking any space to put our things. This however, was reflected in the lower price of the room. Other than that I would recommend it.

The freshly painted Junior Suite with a top-notch bathroom was fantastic, overlooking the Place de Massena. Prime location. The bed was great. We slept like royals. Staff were service-minded and friendly. Smack in the middle of the old town - great shopping and restaurants only 200 m. away from the hotel. A 5. minute walk to the beach. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
