"If you want to feel like you’re in a sauna and/or do hot yoga in your hotel room, this is the place for you! You walk in and get hit with a blast of heat. The thermostat says it is set to 68°F (20°C), but the room is at 88°F (31°C). It doesn’t work at all. It’s basically wall art. You go to the front desk and are told maintenance will fix it. You go back, wait in the heat, and nothing changes. So you head back down and ask to switch rooms. Expect some eye rolls, but you’ll get moved. The second room is “better,” around 75°F (24°C), but still uncomfortable. At that point you’re tired and stop pushing. For the rest of the stay, the temperature ignores whatever you set. It drifts between the mid‑70s and high‑80s. On the final night, it jumps back to 88–90°F. You report it early. The solution is a fan with two broken legs that falls over when you turn it on. Calls to the front desk don’t lead anywhere. Checkout is a quick “sorry” and that’s it. No follow-up. No manager available when you ask to speak to one. Nice neighbourhood. The room itself was not. But if you’ve never seen it before and you’re looking to see what a deer in the headlights looks like, just go to the front desk and ask a question. For about 5% of the cost of a 5 night stay at this hotel you could go buy a tent or find an old cardboard box and sleep in a park and be more comfortable, and might even get to interact with a turkey or adorable bunny."

"Keith, the hotel ambassador, was amazing! Super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! They also have a coffee bar open 24/7. Bed was comfy. Looks like they recently replaced the carpet with flooring, which I feel is always cleaner than carpet. The only weird thing is that it is called a hotel, but they have multiple buildings and your door opens to the outside, so really more of a motel. Good price for a downtown room. Close to the medical center."
