Different hotel and problems with reception

We booked to stay at Haus Saarland am Rennsteig. On arriving at the hotel we found it was closed and a notice telling us to go to another hotel, Hotel Thuringenschanze which was about 0.5km away. Since we had arrived by public transport we had to walk there with our luggage. On checking in at the new hotel we were not offered Oberhof guest cards. This meant that we were unable to obtain the guest card discount when we visited the nearby SkiHalle. We asked to stay an extra night. We paid for this in cash but the receptionist said she was unable to give us a receipt which made us feel very uncomfortable and worried about this transaction. We found that the reception at Hotel Thuringenschanze was never manned. We had to interrupt the restaurant staff in the middle of meal service when they were obviously very busy.

schönes Gästehaus am Rande der Fußgängerzone

Das Haus Saarland am Rennsteig liegt am Rande der Fußgängerzone in Richtung der Rodelwiese (Alte Golfwiese) und des Skiliftes. Auch der Weg zu verschiedenen Loipen ist nicht weit. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und findet in einem geräumigen Speisesaal statt. Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Zimmer sauber. Bei der Ankunft hing ein Schild in der Tür mit der Telefonnummer der Rezeption. Über den dann mitgeteilten Code konnten wir unseren Zimmerschlüssel direkt aus dem Schlüsseltresor in Empfang nehmen. Die Gästekarten konnten wir dann später am Schloßberghotel abholen. Alle Bereiche der Stadt sind von hier gut zu Fuß erreichbar, so dass das Auto auf dem hinter dem Haus befindlichen Parkplatz stehen bleiben kann. Das Einloggen ins WLAN funktionierte ebenfalls problemlos.

Bättre på vintern

Upptäckte för sent att det var en vintersportort som vi bokat hotell på, så rummen var därefter. Det var helt och rent, men omodernt och gammalt och skulle passa utmärkt till en sportlovsvecka, men inte som sommarhotell. Ingen reception på plats när vi kom, så vi fick ringa, och få instruktioner om hur få nyckel, och var man skulle gå in (sidoingång). Dock härlig omgivning!!

Für den kurzen Aufenthalt ( eine Übernachtung ) war es ok. Das Zimmer hatte eine ausreichende Größe aber das Raumklima war mangelhaft, hoffe es wurde vom Service behoben. Es hat nicht zuviel Versprochen.

En dårlig hoteloplevelse.

Der var intet personale på hotellet, da vi ankom. I stedet var der angivet en telefon, som man kunne ringe til, hvorefter en person, som ikke befandt sig på hotellet, gav os en kode til en nøgleboks. Dermed fik vi nøgle til hotellets hoveddør og vort værelse. Hotellet virkede nedslidt. Værelset/badeværelset virkede ikke ordentligt rengjort. Det ene beslag til toiletsæde og -låg var knækket og lå på gulvet bag toilettet. Det var nok blevet opdaget af rengøringspersonalet, hvis det havde været der for at gøre rent! Morgenmaden var ikke af samme standard som vi møder på andre 3-stjernede hoteller i Tyskland. Rundstykkerne virkede, som om de var 1-2 dage gamle. Naturen i Oberhof og på Der Rennsteig er storslået og smuk. Vi vælger ikke dette hotel en anden gang.

Das Haus Saarland liegt etwa 1,5 km vom "Rondell" entfernt. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit großem Bad.
