"I wanted a quiet house near Kyoto Station to write and relax, and this was the perfect choice. It's in a residential area, so there's no street traffic. The bathroom is fantastic, with a great soaking tub that overlooks the maple tree. It's also conveniently located near Aeon Mall, making it easy to bring groceries home. I had everything I needed, and the hotel was very responsive to communication. The only thing I could think of adding might be a bicycle. I hope to stay there again soon!"

There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. Cool to stay in a machiya. Stairs are narrow and more like a ladder, but easily navigable for younger and smaller bodies. For the price there are more comfortable and equally well situated places around. "
