This place was amazing. It was on the third floor and there is not an elevator, but we had no problem with it Very clean, very, very pretty, Provided tea and kettle and condiments. Really nice place. Would absolutely stay again.

The room was unique, clean and well put together. The bed was soft and comfy. The rainfall shower was wonderful! The entrance at the side with the bar there was odd and not sure about the rubbish bins out front. The staff were helpful and easy to reach via email. The street noise was louder than the bar noise.

The hotel is in a good location and within walking distance of the City centre. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the only negative was the noise in our bedroom from the karaoke bar below us.

Very easy to find the property, easy self check in instructions. Great recommendations given for near by places for food and drink. Clean room and comfy bed. Only down point to the room is a floor piece trim could be put down between bedroom and bathroom due to the different height of flooring it’s a toe stubber opportunity. Property itself very presentable with it being next to a main road there wasn’t much road traffic noise. Not extremely noisy in the bar below wasn’t able to gain the experience of the bar on the ground floor as it had a private event or a gig on our last night so unable to attend which was unfortunate. Very easy to get around bus stop located just over the road which 10/15 minutes your in the centre of Oxford. Or if walking 20 ish minutes just following the main road. Overall a good stop over and the property had everything we needed for our stay.

Room was quirky, clean and had good amenities (perhaps only missing an iron?) with a particularly good shower and comfortable bed. The location is great, not in centre but a nice walk with plenty of cafe’s, restaurants and bars nearby. Only downside’s We stopped on a Friday and Saturday night and it was noisy from the bar/karaoke downstairs till circa 1am, (we had fun guessing what the song was) however they do warn you when booking and provide ear plugs. Also the stairs are quite steep but again they have plenty of warning and offer assistance if required. Overall thought it was good value for Oxford

Character filled place with a lovely, quiet room. Great decor, comfy bed and a clean bathroom with a great shower. Friendly staff. 10 minute walk over scenic bridge to the heart of the university area. Recommend.

Fabulous hotel, great stay

The hotel was amazing! Ideally situated Lovely themed rooms, very quirky and brilliantly authentic. Spacious, clean, comfortable and great facilities. The staff were attentive and responded swiftly and positively to our communications about the booking. Attention to detail and an even a kind gift for my daughter’s birthday. Would certainly recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at the Mad Hatter! It was a convenient walk to shops, the Christ Church Meadow, restaurants, etc. The eccentric decorations on the property were adorable. The hosts were extremely nice and accommodating. Pro Tip: make sure you do the virtual check-in before you are too jetlagged to understand the instructions! I made the mistake of not handling the check-in until the last minute and I was so tired and confused that I had trouble with understanding the email and completing the check-in The staff was extremely kind and patient with me.

No staff on site and trying to find the door in was a bit of a chore as it’s Aaron’s the corner on Circus St. Room was very clean and done up nicely. No air conditioning so that could be a significant issue. They had a fan going and temps dropped a bit during the night so we werefine

Great position.

Room was nicely decorated and we did appreciate the fridge, and bonus ear plugs and eye masks, though we didn’t really need them as we stayed early in week. The climb to the top was a challenge for us, but may not bother more able bodied people, but I wouldn’t want to try getting big bags up there! My only concern during the stay was the lack of clear fire escape and or emergency details. Top floor and only one way to escape. Whilst we were comfortable, price was good, and the hotel well located.. I wouldn’t stay again, because of my fire concerns. I did note that they appeared to have roof sprinkler system.

Good location within Oxford. The room was clean ans presentable with a comfortable bed and good size. This place would have gotten a 4 or even 5* review if it weren't for the loud music playing from downstairs. We were told this would stop at midnight, and so we made sure to stay out until past midnight. However, even returning at 1am, the music was still incredibly loud and bassy into the room, up until 2am. Do not stay here if you intend to sleep before 2am.
