"We really enjoyed our recent overnight stay. We were three adults and one child in an executive room with one kingsize bed and two proper single beds, (i.e. not sofa beds or guest beds). We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool, sauna and steam room. The water temperature in the pool was lovely. The only negative was that the lift was out of order when we were checking out which was challenging for my elderly father as we were on the top floor. "

"There was only one member of staff there over our 2 day stay & she was really nice and helpful (she seemed to be covering reception, housekeeping & kitchen). Got to say all the public areas could do with a good hoover and the skylight in our room was covered in green algae. Our room was clean (apart from the skylights) but small. Breakfast was really poor for the price we paid. Hotel in general needs a good update as has loads of potential."

"In a phone call from someone from the hotel ( turns out they were from the Crescent hotel, owned by by same company,) I specifically asked about breakfast time as we had to be at Assembly rooms at 8 am. I was assured breakfast started at 7.30, even on a Saturday. On arrival I found this was not the case. The person on reception assured us that it would be be sorted with either the chef coming in early or us being walked round to other hotel. Saturday morning staff knew nothing about this but did take us to other hotel. The lift was an act of faith; we only used it going up, despite mobility issues , and twice had to get a member of staff to get the lift as the door did not always close properly. Meal in the bar was excellent…but was the restaurant ever open for anything other than breakfast? We also had to ask for more toilet roll; even budget hotels leave you a spare!"
