"The staff was very pleasant and helpful including easily switching to English when I didn't understand or wasn't able to explain myself well in French. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was large & comfortable. The room darkening blinds worked very well blocking all outdoor light. The rooms were quiet with the exception of slamming doors due to the weight of the doors and other guests choosing not to close them quietly. The shower stall was a bit awkward and the shower head did not stay positioned for the duration of a shower. At check in, there was a sulfur-like odor in the room that either faded as the room aired out."
"The property was well located but parking was on the street and you had to keep feeding the parking meters while parked. The property was very clean and we were greeted well. The staff was helpful.
The room and bathroom were a bit odd in that we were placed on the top floor in a renovated attic room. It was in August and very hot that week. The air conditioning couldn’t keep up with the heat so the room was stuffy.
In the bathroom, there was a nice walk-in shower. However, there was no place to set your shampoo, soap, razors, etc. while showering so you had to set them on the floor.
Other than very few minor items, the property was very nice and I would definitely stay there again when returning to Epernay."
"Such a beautiful property lovely clean, new spacious rooms. Breakfast was nice. Only downfall was the temperature in the rooms not being able to be controlled/changed."
"Well worth the splurge to sleep where kings did and enjoy the fine food, excellent service, beautiful grounds, and hop, skip, and jump to the very welcoming, family-run Borel-Lucas champagne house across the street."
"Fabulous experience and highlight of our 3 weeks in Europe. Beautiful castle, fabulous dinner and breakfast and the experience was lovely and regal with our maître D. The grounds and historic site added to the weekend. Played tennis and will have to come back to enjoy the pool and hot tub when it is not raining. They are renovating some as well, but this is a well preserved piece of history while still have the charm you would expect from a castle. Better than all the modernized chateau’s."
