There was a singer on in the Pub on Saturday night which was very loud, even in the bedroom, and went on till late. This would have been fine if I’d have been socialising at the pub, but I had booked accommodation before attending an event early the next morning - prior warning would have been appreciated.

Perfect Stay

Fantastic location, staff, food (evening meal and breakfast were both superb) and beer. The room was a bit old fashioned but spacious and served its purpose. I will definitely be staying here again when completing more of the Lake District’s northern fells.

I checked in late and the lady on reception was very friendly. I had a tasty roast lamb dinner and next morning a delicious breakfast was served. Great staff, great food and great room.

A little gem in Penrith!

Just stayed for 1 night en route to Windermere and so glad we did. The room was lovely and the food was exceptional. We had dinner and breakfast in the morning. Great selection and really tasty! If looking for accommodation in the area, I would highly recommend. We will definately be coming back at some point.

Stayed 1 night en route back from Ireland. Nice polite friendly staff and manageress. Good sized room with decent comfortable bed. Ate dinner in the bar area, lovely well cooked food. Breakfast was superb. Will definitely return when back in the area. Highly recommended.😊😊😊

good, quiet location within easy reach of Penrith, Ullswater and the lakes or the motorways north or south. Old building with character but fairly modern and comfortable rooms. Good food and large bar area, pity it hasn't local beers. Tetley's and John Smiths not my choice, where's the Jennings or other cumbrian breweries?
