Canadian Cottage Charm on Rice Lake

We had an international family gathering and the place had all the charm of a Canadian Cottage on Rice Lake. The added bonus was a full kitchen to cook in or two restaurant choices. We saw wildlife, kayaked, swam, and there is a spa if you want to treat yourself. Park your car and just relax. Walk to a golfcourse or take a flying lesson. It was perfect for our gathering.

It’s a nice location close to Peterborough. Limited hot water during our stay. Even when we ran it for half an hour as suggested. Give you two fire starters for five days and charge you $2 extra for each additional. Seems odd with amount paid. Not sure why cost goes up with number in cabin increases. It’s not extra work for you. Cookie sheet too big to fit in small oven. Pro was two extremely nice guys brought us firewood. Kudos to them. Dinner on Christmas was very good.

We had left a few spice items for our meal at home one night. Quick call to the front desk and a little help from the kitchen and we were back in business. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well prepared. Definitely on the list to return again.

Wunderschönes Ferienresort direkt am Rice Lake. Die Cottages haben alle eine Veranda mit Blick auf den See. Das Resort wird mit viel Liebe geführt und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Wir hatten das Cottage mit drei Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern. Die Küche hat alles was man braucht, jedoch keine grundlegenden Zutaten wie Salz, Pfeffer, Öl usw. Das Auto kann man direkt vor dem Cottage parken. Das Essen im Restaurant oder Pub ist wirklich super lecker. Man schmeckt hier einfach, dass die Produkte regionaler Herkunft sind oder sogar selber angebaut werden. Einziger Minuspunkt ist, dass das Cottage mal wieder eine Grundreinigung und ein wenig Renovierung bräuchte. Es ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es gibt viele Aktivitäten vor Ort (Rundflüge, Indoorpool, Spa, Billard, Kicker, Tischtennis, Basketball, Badminton, Reiten, usw.). Es wird einem nicht langweilig :) absolute Empfehlung! Wir haben hatten es auf unserer Rundreise durch Kanada als letzte „Erholung“ vor Toronto.
