"Staff were not friendly and we felt uncomfortable at check-in and asking questions during our 2 night stay. Buffet breakfast was good. We knew it was an Ibis budget hotel but there is no privacy for anyone in the room to go to the bathroom or shower. Barely enough room for carry-on sized luggage. I would not recommend for anyone travelling with full sized luggage."

"This hotel has eveything you might need with well maintained rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We received a welcome gift of Swiss chocolate, breakfast was well organized and foods were kept supplied. Coffees offered were plentiful and good. This hotel is right down the funicular from the Lugano train station.....no lugging your baggage, just wonderful!! If I were to be in Lugano again, this is the hotel where I would stay again!"

"A destination hotel sitting above Varese with gardens overlooking Lake Varese below. We were warmly greeted at reception and having arrived in the evening after a flight and drive, we chose to eat in the restaurant. Good move - the food was very good but surpassed by our waiter's enthusiasm to make crepe suzette at our table, which was excellent and thoroughly entertaining. We stayed in May, so the pool was closed and left before exploring the area but glad we stayed here - charming, historic and whilst there are areas that require a little TLC, it adds to the character. Rooms were comfortable, well equipped and a nice bathroom."

"Front desk staff and concierge were accommodating and friendly. One person was not so nice - ignored us standing there for quite a while even though no one else was around. But other than that, excellent! Spa was amazing! We enjoyed it every day. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Beautiful hotel. Classic design. Bed was very comfortable and pillows were great. Our shower leaked and they moved us rooms without question. The included breakfast was quite good. The restaurant was spendy, but food was good and amazing view. They do offer a shuttle into Lugano, but it only runs every two hours. The staff were all very mind. Would rate overall experience 4/5 "

"This was the most beautiful hotel we stayed at during our trip to Italy and Switzerland. While other hotels trend toward contemporary modern design, which is fine, the Hotel Dino provides the opposite. It was like the great grand hotels of the past. The decor is extremely upscale and beautifully put together utilizing wood paneling, tufted leather, art, crystal and silk. The location cannot be beat on the coast of Lake Maggiore. And the immaculate gardens and water features that surround this wonderful hotel give a sense is peace and beauty. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more days there. Visiting Baveno and staying at the magnificent hotel Dino is the one location we will return to in the future. "

"The whole stay was wonderful. Exceeded expectations in every way. Food was amazing quality & reasonably priced. Breakfast had everything you need and so fresh. Views and spa facilities were incredible. Couldn’t recommend enough. I am gluten free and only had to tell the restaurant once. The next day they remembered, freshly made gluten free bread every day. Gluten free nibbles with drinks. Perfect. Massive shout out and thank you to Luca P who made our last meal so special. Very attentive and attention to deal was second to none. Thank you Kurhaus for the most amazing stay. "
