"The hotel is lovely, in a traditional courtyard-style house. It is beside the north gate, just inside the ancient town, so the location is great. Alice was fantastic, collected us from the train station and gave us lots of tips on places to visit and eat. We had a great two-night stay, highly recommended!"

"Wonderful hotel set in an ancient mansion. Staff were helpful and friendly and focused on improving the guest experience. Wonderful breakfast whether you ordered Western or Chinese. We ate the special set menu dinner. Definitely the best restaurant in Pingyao. Staff had a proficient level of English which enabled us to have a better experience visiting the historical sights in the walled city. Our two night stay was a five star experience."

"Pleasant little hotel right in the middle of the old town. Rooms are in the courtyard behind and not afected by the bustling street out front. Staff are really nice and eager to please but be aware that no one speaks English, so if you dont know any Mandarin it will be a challenge. Being in the middle of a traffic free area is great, but it means you can't get a taxi to drop you at the door (and street numbering is very patchy). "Lovely atmosphere old chinese. Right in the centre of the old city. Beautiful place for breakfast, Chinese breakfast did not suit my wife but great coffee and orange juice, i think they own luckin coffee next door.
