"Front desk staff were very helpful arranging taxis for hikes. Seaview room was very spacious and bed was very comfortable Breakfast had a good variety of food. Tile in swimming pool was very slippery."

"Pour rester le plus objectif possible, je dirais que l’hôtel est idéal pour les voyageurs en quête d’authenticité (cadre, environnement, architecture….) Cependant, ne cherchez pas la tranquillité absolue, car l’ancien édifice réhabilité en hôtel reste mal insonorisé. Nous avions une chambre au 1er étage où nous avions l’impression d’avoir les voisins dans la salle de bain. Non pas que ces derniers étaient bruyants, loin de là, mais la conception et le cloisonnement ne sont pas dignes d’un hôtel...

"Personnel peu sympathique, et pas du tout compréhensif. Un vrai manque d'humanisme De plus la chambre est vraiment très simple mais pas non plus désagréable. Cependant définition sans vraiment mal faite, on dirait que les travaux n'ont pas été mené jusqu'au bout. Cela laisse donc à désirer. Je ne remettrai pas les pieds dans cet hôtel, et je le déconseille vivement ! Ce fut donc une expérience regrettable, mais on apprend de ses erreurs. En conclusion : "Red" Flag Hotel "

"Pictures in the website do not truly reflect the actual condition of the place. It’s dated and in need of some basic maintenance. Doors catching on the floors, tarnished brass on door handles, musty smell, … overall appearance is tired and could do with a freshen up. Room service/cleaning only done if booked the day before (and before 6 pm) which was sneakily put through. Not what I would expect for the price charged, it should be by default! Breakfast was ok but average quality foods. Staff...

Walk most places and local bus’s were plentiful as were tour bus’s at bottom of hill. "The hotel is very old fasion. The food in both breakfast and dinner was very dissapointing - not wjat would you expect from a 5 stars hotel. The air conditionin the room was noisy. Check-oit took a lot of time. The staff in the reception was not so kind."

"Beautiful ocean view from our hotel room. Also, just minutes from the Forum Madeira mall, Pingo Doce grocery store, and oceanside promenade. The bus stop was also minutes away for an easy ride into old Funchal. My only complaint about the rooms is that the chairs were very close to the ground and therefore not comfortable for a tall person like me to sit in."
