Poros is my favorite island in Greece. It is not crowded w/ tourists and the only ferries are smaller, fast cats that get you from Piraeus to Poros in about 1 hr and 10 minutes. New Aegli is about 1.3 miles from the port, so I just walk there. It provides a great escape form the busy crowds in Athens. The beach is right there, and the water is great for swimming. New Aegli has a good breakfast in the morning and great dinners at night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love this place

We absolutely loved the resort. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The location is lovely. It was nice to have the pool in addition to the beach with access to loungers and umbrellas. We'd love to return to Poros and will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this resort.

New Aegli is my favorite place to stay on Poros island. It is a quick 1 hour trip on the ferry from Athens. In September, the Askeli beach is perfect for swimming—the water is warm, and I usually do a 1500 meter swim every day that I’m at New Aegli. The restaurant food is great — I always sign up for daily breakfast. Great food selection, delicious. And I generally have dinner there too!

I was honestly disappointed with this hotel. In my opinion, it does not deserve a 4-star rating. I paid extra for a room with a terrace, and I have to say the terrace and the sea view were beautiful—that was definitely the best part of the stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was very outdated. The walls were old and even swollen in some areas, giving the impression that they hadn’t been properly maintained for years. The mattress was clearly worn out, and the sheets looked as if they had simply been placed over an old, overused bed. Overall, the room felt like it hadn’t been renovated since the 1960s. I would only recommend this hotel for the view, but not for the rooms, which were far below what I expected from a 4-star property. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.

This hotel has MAJOR problems with their kitchen. After eating lunch pool side and dinner in their outdoor dining room, that night I had MAJOR diarrhea that lasted 24 hours. THIS - DIARRHEA ISSUE - DESTROYED OUR VACATION. Left the prepaid hotel early to return to Athens and a clean environment. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL NOR ATTEMPT TO HAVE A MEAL THERE! Big mistake if you do - YOU ARE FOREWARNED! I would state clearly, this hotel is NOT a 4 star hotel as claimed and the room’s cleanness really is terrible. Combined with their kitchen issues- pass on booking this hotel. R. Lane

Vi blev tvungna att byta rum första kvällen då det var vattenskada i vårt rum. Vi fick två olika rum en natt tills ett nytt rum gjordes i ordning. När vi dagen efter fick ett nytt rum så hade jag glömt min iphone laddare i det tillfälliga rummet. Personal och städare hävdar att rummet var tomt och att de inte hittat nån laddare. Är övertygad om att städ tog laddaren.

Fruktansvärd upplevelse – inte värd pengarna. Servicen var extremt dålig och stundtals rent otrevlig. Byggnaden är i mycket dåligt skick, och även om poolområdet ser ok ut på bilderna är det en stor besvikelse i verkligheten. Vi bodde där i en vecka, och inte en enda gång blev vårt rum ordentligt städat. Personalen bäddade bara sängarna. De försökte dessutom ta betalt för frukosten trots att vi redan hade betalat den i förväg. Så här i efterhand önskar vi att vi inte hade gjort det, eftersom frukosten var riktigt dålig. Jag rekommenderar inte det här hotellet överhuvudtaget.

The hotel located across the private beach. It has an amazing view, restaurant with the breakfast option. In my opinion the shower in our room should be renovated. This is only the thing, that I wish to be better.

Staff wasn't super helpful. When you're in another country trying to get a taxi, front desk staff weren't very helpful. The initial person I delt with just said you can call them. When I'm staying at a place that markets themselves as a resort, the least you can do is call the taxi's for me and not make me feel like I was being a burden and had to come back later when the other person wasn't working so someone would call me a taxi. Some staff may need some retraining.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. It was a very nice property, very well located. The hotel provides full access to the beach across the street and it also has a nice pool area. It is very family friendly. The restaurant has a very good menu and delicious food. There is also an excellent roof top area with a gorgeous view. We enjoyed meeting Maria at the roof bar. She was very helpful in suggesting sites to visit. Make sure to check your room charges. We were charged for another room’s meal. The staff was very quick in fixing the mistake once we pointed it out. We highly recommend New Aegli.

New Aegli is about 1.2 miles from the Poros Ferry landing, and Poros is less than an hour from Pireous Port, (using the fast cat ferries) which is just 25 minutes by Metro Train from Athens city center. I travel to Athens once or twice a year from Portland, Oregon, usually in April/May, and September/October. Athens can get a little crowded w/ tourists, so Poros is a nice escape. New Aegli is my first-choice hotel in Poros. It is right on the beach with great balcony views of the beach and sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts cost extra, but they are worth it. . .a nice selection of healthy foods, fruits and vegetables, eggs, and some sweets too. This is a seasonal hotel, so they are generally open from May through October.
