"No complaints at all about this hotel. It was definitely worth paying the extra to stay in the old building and have access to the terrace. Breakfasts were lovely."

"Lovely location and room sea view was spectacular over the rock pools which were lovely to swim in. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and also gave us a packed breakfast/lunch when we had to head out early on tours. The roof top pool, sauna and jacuzzi were lovely to relax in at the end of a packed day. Only downside is the infrequent public transport to Funchal so you will need to catch Bolts so end up pricey. If you have a hire car it’s an ideal location Loved this 5 night holiday in Madeira"

The Editory Garden Carmo Funchal

"Hotel was centrally located in downtown Funchal. A five minute walk to the city centre. Room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the street. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of hot and cold options. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool deck on the rooftop was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. I would have preferred the pool bar to be open however it wasn’t and it was a very minor inconvenience to get the elevator down to the main bar on level 0. If you are using a rental car I would suggest you confirm a parking place with the hotel (20 euro per day) as parking is very limited in the area. I will definitely stay here again!!"
