"Almost a year since our last visit to this magnificent beach house. Such a glorious setting with a great little pool surrounded by so many tall palm trees all fenced off from the deserted beach at the edge of the property. This hotel is really quiet and peaceful taking only a maximum of eight guests at any one time. It is remote but still easily accessible by tuk tuk to nearby towns though you’ll be hard pressed to match the candlelit dinners served in the evenings on the veranda; the cuisine is...
"Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. "
"We loved the place, the owners are beautiful people providing all sort of services but more important even, they provide very useful information about services in town and average price for them. Super helpful when it comes to bargaining with locals. Ideal place if you look for a quiet holiday as it is close enough to walk to the lively places but located in a quiet local area."
"Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! My only choices were to cancel the booking or pay the "new prices" which were 3x higher!
I ended up saying I didn't want the booking and found other accommodations. I actually went to the hotel during my trip where the front desk person was frustrated...
"Wonderful staff and very accommodating. Rooms are clean and the pool was well maintained. Great for families with kids since it is a brief walk from the Main Street in Arugambay."
"There was a problem with our reservation as apparently hotels.com bookings do not transfer over to the hotels system and therefore they had no record of our booking. This meant that they did not have the rooms that we had booked available. The hotel owner/manager was very helpful in finding us different rooms but these were not what had been reserved and meant that we had to separate family members which was not ideal for a week. Other than that the breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and...
"**"Conveniently Located with a Few Perks (and Some Room for Improvement)"**
Looking for a spot close to the surf? 🏄♂️ This place is a winner! Conveniently located on the main street where all the action is, with street parking right by the boundary wall—super easy! 🚗 The rooms are clean, though the linens and toiletries could use a little upgrade. But the real MVP? Indaka, the super friendly and helpful staff member. Perfect if you're into surfing or swimming at the nearby sea! ….a walk on...
