"Under very recent new ownership. Very happy to see this hotel back under new ownership. It will clearly quickly get back to reaching the excellent heights of its past ( prior to a disastrous short period of management by the OYO group) The new owners have by already begun to make significantly great progress with the food back fresh and available in restaurant and bar again. Plus the bar back to good welcoming and inclusive operation again. ( welcoming local customers) . Work is well underway to bring the rooms back to their previous standards. My double was very comfortable and had all I needed. The staff were welcoming helpful and very professional. Very happy to return when next visiting the area. "

"Good location, check in ok, no information given regs facilities, breakfast etc. room good size, clean, a little tired in terms of decor but comfortable. Saturday night is disco night so expect music until 12 midnight. Breakfast a bit chaotic, guests meandering about in the hall to be served, with the manager serving out food on a rationed basis. Good quality food though. For the money it was good and despite the above I would stay again. "

"When we first arrived, the desk receptionist was not very Ord to say the least and we were off to a rough start when the room key would not work several times and we had to hike up the stairs because the elevator was out of order. There was some confusion about the dinner menu so we skipped dinner in the restaurant but in the morning we had an amazing breakfast buffet laid out which was one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever seen. After reading the reports of the restaurant I had my doubts but we were totally shocked at the ample and delicious breakfast buffet. We reported our concerns to the manager who was very responsive and helped us sort out the problems. It’s a lovely setting the room was great. We had a comfortable stay. It was not too hot. It was just perfect and most ways. A good value and especially that breakfast I can’t say enough."

"Nice enough . Bar seems a bit pricey. Service can be slow , car park is tight. Good for a night stay . Town is close by with a decent mix of bars and restaraunts"

"Staff were helpful but to be advised at check in there was no bar available seemed a bit poor. This is our second time staying here as the first time was excellent however wont stay again. Feel the hotel could if advised via email before the check in date. "
