This will eventually become a very nice hotel. Given our attendance 10 days after its opening, about 60% of the hotel was completed. As a result, we weren’t able to enjoy everything that is listed. However the great thing is they offered us a complimentary return visit for the same number of people and number of days!
The Pros:
They have the best fitness center I’ve ever seen at a resort. It has a spin room, boxing room, polytechnics room, stair masters, treadmills all looking out at the beautiful golf course. There are plenty of seating areas throughout the resort. The bowling center (about 13-14 lanes) and sports bar was nice, especially during NBA finals. The best restaurant to book was the Mediterranean restaurant. Food was very nicely seasoned and great portion size. The hotel is very spacious and you never feel like it’s tons of people.
The Cons:
Ocean view is NOT what you think. DR has some type of restriction where this resort had to be so far away from the ocean. So it really is like viewing the ocean from a distance past a forest. We purchase ocean view but it was nothing but construction and forestry. The pool closed very early like at 6pm. The food wasn’t the best at the restaurants we booked (Italian, Mexican). They ran out of some of the items listed and it wasn’t seasoned well. The spa was ok. Our therapist did a lot of rubbing rather than massaging. For the price, it wasn’t worth it to me or my husband (a couples massage was almost $700).
