Liked: Cleanliness
Food is very good, rooms are clean, hotel overall not bad but listening to customers services whom chasing you daily to explain about privilege plan was annoying …
The property is nice, it not overwhelming everything is close to each other for things to do at night. The food was good, drinks were strong, the staff was very helpful and nice, fun activities too. It’s not a big resort but overall very nice resort to go to
Wonderful and friendly staff! Great food and drinks options and availability. Had an amazing time at the resort. However the activities needs to be kept up; The bowling alley and lanes kept jamming up, most of the arcade games were out of service and old.
Nice hotel and food was great!!
Disappointed with our room in Privelege, so musty and bad odor. Floors were wet, your clothes and sheets on bed from so much dampness.
We had a wonderful stay at Ocean Blue and Sand Resort in Punta Cana. The food was excellent, with a great variety of delicious options every day. The pools were beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing.
The customer service was outstanding. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.
One of the best things about this resort is that the restaurants do not require reservations, which made dining much more convenient and stress-free. We also loved that activities like bowling were included, providing fun entertainment without any extra cost.
Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for great food, excellent service, beautiful pools, and plenty of included activities, this is a fantastic choice. We would definitely stay here again!
Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. On the first day we had to request for our mini bar to be filled, after that someone showed up each day. The cleaning ladies would forget wash cloths and some towels each day, we would call for the items we needed. We tried to make reservations for a couple of the restaurants on the property and wasn't able to. The Buffet was okay.
We had a good stay at Ocean Blue. The property was beautiful, well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. The room was always spotless, and housekeeping did an excellent job every day.
The staff throughout the resort was very kind, helpful, and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
One area that could be improved is the entertainment. The animation team and the bartenders at the main bars could have been more energetic, interactive, and fun. We were expecting a livelier atmosphere, especially around the pool and bars.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience. While it wasn’t an outstanding or exceptional stay, it was definitely a good one, and we appreciated the hospitality and cleanliness of the resort.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The staff is not very helpful. We upgraded at check-in and it was a waste of money. Never seen our butler only text twice. Our room had to be switched due to uncleanliness, smell and not stocked. There are three floors with no elevator just be mindful of that. The tv barely worked and all the channels are in Spanish. The food was mid except for the Sensei restaurant that was great! The Privilege sales people held me hostage for 5 hours trying to pursued me to become a member. Staff is not very helpful or friendly only a few. The nightly shows were boring. Overall the H10 property in Jamaica is better even without privilege. I feel like I wasted money upgrading I was not privileged at all! The Privilege members club said it's because I upgraded at the property but it shouldn't matter! Also, the drinks are not strong! I learned a lesson only book privilege at time of booking. Overall I heard Ocean El Faro was better. Can't say I'll return if so definitely a more luxurious property.
We stayed 5 nights, We had to change rooms twice due to the AC not cooling in, we were a large group of 29 people and more than have had to switch rooms due to the same AC problem, super hot AC. Looks like there is a big problem with HVAC maintenance. The AC units seam to be lacking coolant. And they know this, yet they don’t care and send you to this rooms without inspecting this or maybe to see if you perhaps are ok with that and can handle the warm rooms….
Rooms outdated old, broken sliding doors… there was always something broken.
-Food: to be fair we did not dine in any restaurants but both buffet menu were mediocre at best.
-Service: not one server around the pool, the service overall was mediocre at best, had some servers that were very good but most are lost, you have to call for water 80% of the time.
- drinks: I’m not a drinker but I did not try one quality alcoholic drink.
Beach was alright…
The good:
The Cafeteria was the only place where you could have a decent coffee and there was very good service there.
The resort is pretty, the electric carts constantly running is a very good move.
Liked the Two big pools
- the hotel has potential but it feels mediocre at best. Due to the things mentioned above. We are not sure where the good ratings come from to be honest.
Our initial room did not cool properly, when we asked to move they moved us to a room completely away from the rest of our group (we had 4 rooms booked) and stated that we weren’t guaranteed rooms together even when we asked to be even in a building next to them. The original customer service agent was rude and hung up on me however when I went to the front desk the gentleman working was very polite and placed me in a building next to my family. Overall I felt like the food was mediocre. The hibachi restaurant, the Italian and the steakhouse were good ( we didn’t try the Mexican) the appetizers at Route 66 were like typical American bar appetizers so if you’re craving American stuff head here. At the buffets I tried to stick to the fresh things (ie omelet or egg station, burger station, roasting station etc and felt like this food was the best). The wait staff was hit and miss. Some very good and others lacking. I felt the vibe was very 20 to 30s age range. Not a lot for Middle Aged or youth aged children. The beach was beautiful and there was an abundance of chairs and palapas to be under and they worked hard to keep it cleaned. The grounds were also kept very clean. Overall would not likely stay again.
The grounds are very nice. Staff always super friendly. The room was very comfortable. The food to die for. Best part was the adventure with the Buggy's...the cave with the river and the beach. It was my first visit and I will definitely be back. The large pool and swim-up bar was great. Shopping was great too.
The only criticism I have is the air conditioning system were not working, this includes rooms from the 3rd floor, restaurants, sports bar and other facilities.
I would give this hotel 3–4 stars. The property itself is beautiful, very clean, and the customer service from the staff was friendly and professional.
However, there are several areas that need improvement. The beach closes at 6:00 PM, even though it is still daylight outside, and the pool closes at 6:50 PM while it is still completely bright. Guests should be able to enjoy these amenities later in the evening.
The nightclub was another disappointment. The DJ played almost exclusively Puerto Rican music all night. Very few people were dancing because there was little variety. A more diverse music selection would create a much better atmosphere for all guests.
The food was inconsistent. At the steakhouse, the New York strip was very tough and looked more like a regular beef steak than a proper New York strip. The ribs were also tough, and the “churrasco” was not actually skirt steak but a different cut of meat. At the Italian restaurant, the pasta was undercooked, and the risotto rice was hard as well.
Another issue was the transportation around the resort. The shuttle trains that take guests to the beach and guest rooms take too long to arrive. Increasing their frequency would greatly improve the guest experience.
Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential because it is beautiful, clean, and the staff is welcoming. However, these issues affected our stay, and I hope management addresses them to provide a better experience in the future guests
It was an amazing experience, loved it. Everyone was so nice, our room service was amazing.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
We traveled from July 1–5 as a family group of 16 people. Upon arrival, we noticed the lobby air conditioning was not working. That night, our room was also very hot because the AC was not working. This happened not only to us but to all of our family's rooms. When we requested a room change, many other guests were also waiting for the same reason. We had to change rooms twice, and the problem extended beyond the rooms to several restaurants and common areas. Only the steakhouse felt reasonably comfortable.
This was our second stay at this resort. Our first visit was excellent, and this was also our fifth trip to Punta Cana resorts. We understand that an AC issue can happen in one room, but not throughout so much of the property.
On the positive side, the buffet and most restaurants served good food. The steakhouse and the Italian restaurant were our favorites.
We also found it inconvenient that the pool food truck only allowed one hamburger per person, even when we were taking food to another family member.
Overall, the service seems to have declined since our last visit. However, the staff remained friendly, helpful, and professional, and they were the ones who made our stay enjoyable despite the inconveniences.
The hotel was great. The employees were excellent and very kind. The food at the restaurants was great, and it was very easy to do the reservations when needed. There is room to improve regarding the pool amenities, the nighttime shows around the hotel, and the bowling alley. In addition, a colder temperature inside the restaurants and hotel rooms would have helped improve the experience.
