"Everything in Costa Rica takes some driving time. Don’t let the 1:20min drive from the airport discourage you. Buffet food is okay. Restaurants are good. Try the tuna tartare. Area around the resort is busy and industrial. Don’t waste your time driving around for souvenirs. There are no shops. The gift shop has average to low prices. Ask for coupons at check in. 10% off helps when you buy everything at once. Airport has nice souvenirs if you don’t want to hassle during your trip, but it will probably be 20% higher. Buy your souvenirs during your excursions. Don’t forget your Yetis’s or Stanley’s, Bars fill them with drinks. Rooms are okay, but cleaned daily. Rent a car and explore. We traveled to Monteverde, Waterfalls, Jaco…at our own pace. Want to see monkeys, go to playa Manta. The entertainment at the resort is hilarious. They’re interactive and remember your name. I would go back. It’s mostly a locals place, but if you want to swim, drink, eat, and laugh you’ll have a good time. They do offer things to do and eat till 130-2am. I would go back, and see the Volcano. During our stay the roads were not passable. 8 out of 10 for me. The value $ was amazing."

"We had good time gloria took us for lapas lapario tour which was good experience and we had to move our last night from barcelo tambor a barcelo san jose.. we got helped by staff name Juvenal ortiz roman an abigail from front office.. and it saved our flight from missing.. it was great experience..it was our 3rd stay in 3rd country with Bercelo hotels. Suggestions more options in vegetarian and other food options would be nice.."

"Such a unique, serene experience. The entire staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The hotel had so many activities within itself it felt like we didn’t have enough time there!! Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a very comfortable place to be, and the pizza was delicious! Between birdwatching, floating in the pool, and enjoying the restaurant/observation deck, we were able to fully relax at Cerro Lodge!"
