"Check in time is between 2 and 3pm. As inconvenient as that is, the road to the castle is currently under repair so there is no parking past the causeway. So either a 20 minute walk uphill in the heat or a shuttle which runs every 30 minutes ( roughly). Except the shuttle doesn’t operate between 2 and 3 pm! So it is difficult to check in on time!
Why wouldn’t Goulas advise this?
The double room with sea view is very small with the bed taking up 80% of the room. The bed also has protruding decorations which can inflict quite painful encounters with knees or shins. You have to ask why get a bed like that in such a small room?
Nothing else in the room except the tv, air con and a few cupboards. The patio area has a great view of the sea with 2 metal chairs (no cushions) and a small table.
Newly tiled bathroom is very small with great water pressure from the hand held shower ( no bracket for this).
All in all, very poor value for money and relatively uncomfortable."
"This was an amazing hotel. We had a breathtaking view. The staff gave us a wonderful beach recommendation. The “castle” was just a short walk. The breakfast had such a large variety and everything was delicious. Would love to come here again."
"Located right across the beach, you can’t go wrong! Nice little cafe with tables and chairs in a covered area on the beach. Friendly greeting at reception. Everything worked perfectly.
Gefyra is a cute little town. The shuttle bus stop is Monemvasia is barely 100 meters away. Very convenient if you’re tired or if it’s really hot."
"We really loved staying at Likinia and highly recommend it. Our room was spotless, and the staff was very helpful. It was pretty cool to stay in a castle-like setting. There was one minor maintenance issue (toilet had a minor constant trickle, but it worked fine). Power cycled several times during the night; might have been the city instead of the hotel.
While the hotel is at the far end of town, the town is only 4 minutes from one end to the other so it’s not a problem. That said, if you plan to bring lots of luggage, the stairs and cobble stones could pose a problem. (We used a backpack and left our luggage in the car at the end of the causeway. AirTags gave us confidence.)"
"That’s not the lux. But Very friendly with a magnific view on thé balcony. You can not close thé Windows. It’s too beautiful. It’s was quiet during our Time. We Very appreciate."
"The staff was helpful with a bag as we were on the 3rd floor. The benefit of the 3rd floor was the view of Monemvasia Island. The hotel is right by the bridge over to Monemvasia island. It is next to the bus station which saves some steps to the island. There are plenty of food options in the area. For us, this was more convenient than staying on the island and needing to carry bags on cobblestone streets and steps. "
