"We spent 3 nights at the lakehouse and it was a lovely property. The staff went out of their way to help us when our tour (the reason we travelled to Phong Nha) was cancelled at the last minute. They secured a new kayaking tour for us and it was spectacular. Pros: * The villa was beautiful! It had a private outdoor shower and bath. The air conditioning worked perfectly and it had a balcony overlooking the lake. * The staff were friendly, and extremely helpful. * the pools were cool and refreshing Cons: * the included breakfast was not great. It did not have very much selection and was cold. * the restaurant in general was way too overpriced and the food was not good at all. We ate elsewhere after the first night. * there is a charge for using the resort kayaks, bikes, etc Overall, we enjoyed our stay :)"

"Minimal bugs and creatures in the room when it's right next to the field. Great job cleaning and tidying up. We stayed during the field clearing season so the burning/smoke kept us indoor for an hour at sunset until the smoke clear. After that, no problem. We used the pool after the smoke is gone. Food was decent, staff were very nice and helpful."

"Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at Nguyen Shack so much! There is such lovely views from the room and eating area. The yoga was amazing and it was so convenient having breakfast there every AM, The staff are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met,., they truly want you to feel at home. My kids LOVED all of the animals and spent hours hanging out with them. We rented scooters and drove the route they recommended and stopped at Paradise cave. It was such a stunning drive. If you get the privilege to stay here you won’t regret it."

"Rooms were great and location was perfect all at a good price. Mr. Strong was the man. Very welcoming and enjoyed chatting with him. He helped us arrange a bus for a good price, gave us tips for what to do at our next leg of the trip, and generally had a lovely family and home stay. Would recommend staying here to anyone"
