"This hotel is not even a hotel it’s a motel and there were literal crack heads running around the property when we arrived. Based off the photos on hotels .com I thought it was a decent hotel to stay at for one night for a quick business trip but we arrived and were too scared to even get out of the car. People openly drinking and doing god knows what outside, half clothed. Staff refused to refund us when the advertisement of this establishment was clearly misrepresenting the reality of the business."

"The price on Expedia was $36 cheaper than the lowest price at the hotel. So, I stood to the side of the check-in desk and made a reservation from Expedia."

"Our cabin #65 has many carpenter bees buzzing and digging holes in the exterior wall near the deck, table and grill. It was impossible to use the desk and difficult to keep the bees out of the cabin. The inside swimming pool was not functional causing our daughter big disappointment. We were not notified of the swimming pool being out of service until just before our arrival to the resort. I asked Expedia and the resort for some type of credit or other compensation, but we were denied. This resort visit was not very good."

"Bfast was incredible each morning and comes with the room. No lunch. Dinner is by reservation only. If the chef is away, no dinner. Our complaint is with how dirty the house is inside. Our room was decorated nicely but hasn't been dusted. The plastic shower curtain was moldy. Around the top of the tub where it meets the wall was thick with dust. Lots of cracked paint. Windows had plexiglass panels screwed into the wall outside. The curtains were covered in dust. The tv is not a smart tv. Therefore, you're may be getting what's coming through the air locally, and good luck seeing anything through the pixels scrambling all over the screen. The in room coffee maker was not clean. Another couple at bfast complained that theirs didn't work. The door doesnt close correctly so you can see daylight through the crack. The dining room needs cleaned and repainted. I put my purse on the floor leaned up against the wall and noticed there was thick dirt and cobwebs all down the wall. The window shutters were also thick with dirt cobwebs. I feel like the inn is too big of a task for just the two elderly owners. If the bedrooms and dining room are this dirty for the public to see, what does the kitchen look like? Either get more help or sell to someone who can truly take care of this historic piece of old Virginia. Dust, dirt, cobwebs, and mold do not equal historic its just not being taken care of properly. Also the owner told us she has 14 cats in her home. Lots of cats outside the inn "

"The cabin is small but very well designed. It is perfect for the weekend getaway. It is private, but you can see other cabins around."

"Mike greeted us at check-in. He was over-the-top excellent, very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Bravo! The breakfast offering was underwhelming, we skipped it on Sunday and Monday."
