"We got in late (1030pm) after a day of traveling and the person working the front desk treated us immediately like we ruined her evening. She was short with her words, had a tone, would not explain things - simply stated policy and procedure. Our room by the end of checking in had cost us near $700. For 1 night, also I could not find when I reviewed the policys where the deposit price was listed and she wouldnt show me either, just stated every city has a different deposit peice and this is Medicine Hats policy. I asked what if I cant pay a 500 deposit- she told me I would forefit the room and be out the $170 I had already been charged for my room.
We frequent hotels often, we are also local to medicine hat. We do staycations in our city often. How we were treated as a memeber and in general as people, I likely wouldnt visit medicine hat location again.
The front desk work when I checked out between 7 and 730am was very friendly, accommodating and was nice to deal with first thing in the morning.
I said likely wouldnt visit again becuase being a buiness owner myself I know not to judge an establishment based off 1 employee, and so in the future I may try again. However I do feel the night staff, or this individual staff memeber could use a refresher course on customer service."
