The two level lodge was newly remodeled we know because our room smelled heavily of paint. I made my hubby spray his cologne to help out so I could sleep. Night one did not help, I was up all day with a family event early the next morning. The outside noise is horrible. There’s bars on the bathroom window, which I appreciate so much when the bar fight from literally across the alley started. I thought oh here comes the bullets. I was too scared to go out to our truck to get something! When the officers showed up out bathroom was a huge red and blue disco light. We had paid for both nights so we went back I died I was so tired so nothing bothered me then. There’s great food around actually just across the street, Dos Gordos. Ate both nights there. There’s a nice doughnut place just next door. Every thing else was trash. The lodge is trying to make it be a nice place, but with their surroundings it tough to be really happy there. The pool was down of course still cold and raining. The pantry for Continental breakfast was just that. Nothing to write home, we went to McDonalds down the hwy. There’s a Coke machine and ice machine at the office. That’s the whole property in a nut shell.
