"Title: A pleasant surprise – don’t let the “motel” label fool you Review: I’ll start by saying I don’t have much motel experience – I usually stick to hotels. So I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked the Granby in Grand Forks, BC. But I was really, really happily surprised. The linens and bedspread were way nicer than I anticipated – soft, clean, and felt closer to what I’d expect from a decent hotel. The pillows were incredibly comfortable (which rarely happens for me when I travel). The location was also surprisingly quiet – I slept better here than I have in some much pricier places. On top of that, the staff were so helpful and kind. Genuinely welcoming and went out of their way to help us. If you’re a fellow hotel loyalist on the fence about trying a motel, give the Granby a shot. It changed my perspective."

"My wife, son, family pet and I stayed in the Suite with kitchenette Apr 30-May03 2026. Beautiful, relaxing and comfortable suite with lots of room. The beds were very comfortable. Although busy with guests, the hotel was quiet and relaxing. The staff were very helpful. The area was great for early morning walks along the River walkway. The staff recommended the nearby Bridgeview Cafe for Breakfast / coffee and we were not disappointed. Great for a sit down breakfast or food to go! We will definitely be back to both the hotel and cafe. "

"A lovely, hotel with comfortable and spacious room, lovely linens, and a great on-site restaurant. We appreciated the coupon for a complimentary appetizer at the restaurant, and must say that the main course we ordered was absolutely delicious. It’s a small restaurant and somewhat pricey, but lovely atmosphere and great stuff."

"First time staying at this hotel for a business trip. The hotel staff and Gabriella’s restaurant were the highlight of the stay. Great service and high quality Italian restaurant that serves both dinner and offers a breakfast cafe option too. Looking forward to coming back."

"I came here for a last minute weekend retreat in the mountains. The property is modern and has all the necessary amenities, even in the shoulder season. The onsite restaurant offers incredible dining. Service was great. I do wish this property had a pool or hot tub, and a more free parking options for guests. I also think a hiking/walking trail map for the area would be useful, along with activities in the area occurring during my stay (though I did not ask if this existed). "
