Other highlights of the region, such as Ponte Arouca, are within a 45 minutes radius. I waa happy to stay there. Just beware that there is no restaurant in the hotel nor within walking distance, and neither a supermarket nearby."

"Fantastic grand old property, in an amazing location on the Duoro River, brought to life by the very friendly staff. A private wine tasting was organised for us and was a very enjoyable experience. Elsa was great. It was raining a lot while we were there, so did not get to use the pool. The food menu could be improved. You can get here by train from Porto. Ermida station is just down the road."

"We had a lovely stay here. The setting was beautiful and the facilities were really good. The staff are really friendly and helpful and very welcoming. We had a couple of drinks on the veranda with snacks and then a very nice meal in the restaurant along with a good breakfast the next morning. The room was also very good with great views of the lake. All in all a great stay and we would definitely use this hotel again."
